There are some stupid, stupid people here.

Watson whined about not having blocking or WRs, so Houston traded away the future for him. A year later, he wants out because they have no draft picks to improve the team.

I truly cannot understand why that is so hard for most of these people to comprehend.

From a few days ago, Voth (quoting Gantt)...

Somehow, I don't see Watson becoming an "unexpected bargain".

I get that people want to dream about getting a quarterback like Watson, and yeah, that'd be great.

But sorry guys, this is just not something I think is gonna happen.

Watson isn’t a free agent.

Just stop.

I think it's fair to distinguish between free agency and a trade...

Just now, Sean Payton's Vicodin said:

I don't think he's coming here but lol at the people who think rbs are important in 2021

He’s probably not. It’s just a crazy deal and those don’t happen very often.

but yeah anyone saying “no we shouldn’t do this if it means trading cmc!” is an idiot.

I would much rather make this trade for a proven top 5 QB in the league than to give up (2) 1st and a 2nd to move up for a rookie that is 50% chance at best to even become above average as a starter in the league.

In terms of picks, Watson literally cost 1 extra 1st rounder while saving that 2nd rounder this year to draft a LT.

I would much rather give up a player or two to keep that 2nd this year with a proven QB than have that 1st rounder 2 years down tge road and a rookie QB that may be good or may already be a bust in 2 years.

Also, if your GM cannot find players in rounds 2-7 and free agency, you have tge wrong GM.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
