I'd be totally happy with Darrisaw. Not as elite as Sewell or Slater but still a 10 year starter at LT.

Hi Verge, it sounds like Pitts won't be available at 8, but should he or Chase be available with Slater still on the board would they consider either?

He won't be available at 8, I doubt Chase will either.

So we have 

Lawrence, Wilson, Jones, Pitts, and Chase all most likely gone before 8. That means Sewell, Fields, or Slater should be available?

I wouldn’t be surprised if we grabbed Fields or Lance if they are there at 8. But I don’t think they will be. So sign me up for Sewell

Haven't had quality O Line play in Carolina in a LONG time.

 

Let's change that.  I'm on board with Slater or Sewell at this point.

If we somehow go Pitts, I'll be done.

If Fields, Lance, Sewell and Slater are there at 8, I'll wait for the phone to ring and see what other teams to offer.

Denver is the ideal trade partner with move back 1 spot plus extra pick and we still get Sewell will be thrilled!

For me its, 

1. Sewell

2. Trade back for Slater, USC OT, or CB

3. Stay put for Slater, USC OT, or CB

 

I think Cincy would be dumb to not take Sewell but there are some reports that teams think this is a deep OT class and they can pick one up later.

I know a lot can change in a month and a half, but according to Rodrigue we “love” Fields. Even with Darnold (unfinished question mark that cost us a 2nd rounder), would we not pounce on him at 8 if he really is a QB we “love?” I totally get drafting a LT, and Sewell and Slater are great. Sorry, Fields is my draft crush (obviously) and I’m struggling going all in on Sammy D...

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility. I'm just not sure they trade for Sam if that is the case. Draft an elite LT prospect, and build around Sam for better or for worse.

Jaelan Philips or Azeez Ojulari could could the out of nowhere pick in the top 15 though.
