Cam's successor...

He's at Wake Forest now...but seriously how long will it take??? We lucked up with Cam at number 1, do you think it will take another number 1 pick again or is the answer now on the roster/ this draft?

This is the draft to determine our next couple years even if we don't draft a QB. Who is to say the guy at 8 isn't a bust regardless of position.

Are we curse because the way things ended with Cam?

Watson was there for the taken, high price but now I don't know what's going on there. Too much...

We're entering one of the best QB class a draft has every seen and yet we were always hoping for the 4th best ok maybe 3rd to fall to us.

Based on these last few days, I'm left to look up pee wee QBs...

P.s. On the bright side Z.Wilson could've been the pick and we would've been in QB purgatory for God knows how long.

In retrospect Carolina should have done it the right way two years ago and let things occur naturally when we started 0-2 with #1. We had a shot at his successor then and last year but we were concerned with team culture yet we proceeded to overpay at two luxury positions in what were ultimately very 2010 Richardsonesque moves despite what homers will tell you. We are where we are now because the Panthers just couldn't get out of their own way the same as past years. New owner same song and dance. We could get lucky and strike gold again like we did in 2011 but many fans lack the willingness to be that bold. That mentality is why someone like Bridgewater could even talked up as a franchise quarterback in the first place. It was always a tall order but he wasn't Cam Newton so for some that was enough. Now look at us. We tried to tell you.

I'm glad someone understands this thread...

Sam Darnold = David Carr.

We have to find a QB, our own guy not someone's leftover. By the end of next year I can see the same thing happening again, top 8-12 pick, hoping to land a QB. There's a pattern I see developing, trying to win with rejects, castoffs, so much is put on Rhule's development, well Teddy didn't work out, if Sam doesn't, what then...New England didn't bash Cam, and I believe he looked worse than Teddy, but our new staff devalue our own assets. Who would want to come to Carolina knowing there's no real direction and a few bad games gets you called out by the OWNER, not just the coaches but the OWNER who had to ok you coming here in the first place. Before we drafted Cam, Andrew Luck was the pick, but he wanted nothing to do with us, so yeah we lucked up BIG time with Cam.

Cam open the market up for Carolina, each year passing that door is getting slimmer. Star players will want to go somewhere else(ex. Samuel) if not for the money but to actually compete for a Lombardi.

Jake to Cam years were awful.

Vincent Frank Testaverde Sr....need I say more

You know, I don't recall ever starting a new thread on this forum.  I feel like I pretty much engage in intelligent conversation with most of you, and while some may disagree with me, I think I at least put thought into the things I say.

All that being said, I have to ask, why in God's name can just anyone start a thread about anything?

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
