So I just was looking at Sam's NextGen Passing Charts from week 1 & 2 side by side thanks to a tweet from Steven Ruiz:

Interesting and encouraging to see the HUGE improvement on intermediate passes 10-20 yards) from week 1 to week 2.  And WAY FEWER passes at or behind LOS.

It's almost like this guy has top QB talent and just needed proper coaching and time to rebuild his confidence.

He’s gotten in trouble at SC and one of the Jets coaches for running like a linebacker, and not a QB, lol.

I mean I don't get why. Sam isn't a small guy and that particular run looked just like anything Cam might do. Cam got hurt trying to make a tackle after KB fatassed a route then fatassedassed the tackle after it was picked and then Cam dove and hurt his shoulder. Then it got finished off in the pocket doing a pass.

It wasn't the runs that ended his career.

I’m not talking about the runs themself, it’s that Sam lowers his shoulder to make a tackle while running…..he had to be told to slide, several times.

Yea so did Cam, I don't have an issue with that at all.

Don’t have an issue with him getting injured?  I don’t know much about him I’m afraid, save the negative stuff, such as not diving for the ball to recover a fumble in the SB.  I read he was afraid (understandably) of getting injured, due to past injuries.

How did you come up with that? I said I don't have an issue with him running the ball and lowering a hit himself to get into the endzone. Cam didn't get hurt running the football he got hurt throwing the ball and trying to make a tackle.

Like Lamar Jackson hasn't come close to getting hurt running the ball all over the shop. They've gone over this many times. QBs get hurt IN  the pocket not running the ball. Other than, ironically, sliding where you've seen bridgewater and flacco get knocked out sliding.

I like Sam and while the jury is still out, I think we will walk away with value relative to the compensation we give to the Jets. That said, I think for us to maximize the value I expect this to be a somewhat lengthy ( more than 1 season) reclamation project. He will not be all world by the end of the season and there will be more issues uncovered.  Rhule and Co are reteaching NFL QB 101 for lack of a better example.  We just need to have a little confidence in Darnold being a worthy pupil.

    • The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul
    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
