Really good article on Sam Darnold. Worth a click.

The bit about differences in the offenses between Gase and Brady was maybe the most interesting to me.  It does make Brady's offense sound much easier to get into and process quickly.

I'm very happy with Darnold and optimistic he can be the guy here. Still need to see more, especially in high pressure situations, but it's hard to argue his first couple starts could have been better given where his starting point was (2020 was simply brutal for him).

That was a good, evenly written article. Sam is looking like the guy I watched at SC, confident and making big plays. He has great weapons around him, watch out for Marshall Jr.! Having Anderson, Moore, Marshall Jr., and CMC, Sam's got the tools to get us to the promised land IMO. I can't wait to watch this offense get really comfortable with each other over this season! Something special awaits us!

Gase's offense required a Peyton Manning to work.

It's certainly looking that way.

I do believe that our team will come out of this with a qb that is well worth what they gave for him.

I also believe that the naysayers here will forever be throwing a tantrum no matter how well Sam is for this franchise 'cause they didn't get their way and are a bunch of little babies.

Most talk about Sam's available weaponry makes no mention of Arnold or Zylstra, who both made big contributions Sunday.

Props to Sam for seeing them open and delivering to both on time and on target.

There are simply more offensive possibilities with this lineup than most other teams can imagine, even historically.  "Greatest Show on Turf," maybe, or the Steelers with Franco, Swann, Stalworth, etc, but not many others.  Expect  some games with 40+ pts.  We're that good, and just starting to get the rhythm.

I’d like to see him manage the game better meaning surveying the field a little better as he’s missed open targets but I guess that’s to be expected learning a new offense, not to mention it would help have better blockers.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
