Mills looked better than Zach Wilson?

I don't recall seeing any "Wow" throws that you'll get from a Zach Wilson or a GOAT like Sam Darnold, but his poise and toughness was commendable.  But he seemed to mostly just throw to open receivers last night.  He did do a good job operating the 2-minute drill at the end of the first half...much better than I had seen Teddy do at any point last season.

Mills better than Wilson is a stretch. Wilson looked very good against us all things considered. Like mentioned earlier, Mills just looked like he belonged back there. I thought he would at least give us one major bone-headed turnover, which he had plenty of opportunities to do. Maybe trying to throw while attempting to escape a sack. Nope. He lived to fight another day. Didn't looked panicked.

On a side note though. Mills may have appeared too relaxed. Dude looked super robotic. lol! I mean, the coach was in his face ecstatic because of his TD drive and Mills looked like he had just lost all will to live....

    • I get it's disappointing, but this was definitely a seller's market and the only players traded away were players that would be depth pieces at best for us. A lot of the top teams (Avs, Stars, Lightning, Wild post Hughes) really only traded for depth pieces. Just a terrible trade deadline all around and I'm glad we didn't cave and sell the farm for somebody like Tro (even though I like him and he fits our team well).
    • Yes the Icky thing really kills us this year with a 17.4 I think, million dollar hole, for nothing.     His extension would likely have reduced his 2026 hit. But the extension was going to be massive.    At the same time, the massive extension money is largely freed up now and can go elsewhere.  There is just no way he should be in line for the same payday as pre injury.  I say largely freed because maybe we can do a little hollowed out extension to give him a window to get back and stay with the team past this year. Snap count and/or other incentives for 2027. Something that leaves the door open for him to get a fresh contract that reflects his value moving into 2028. Whatever that proves to be.  We’d have a lot of that money that was earmarked for his extension available to us starting next year.
    • What a major letdown. This team will forever disappoint me
