I mean, there is no way that cast will suck in comparison to what they have been doing lately at halftime.

Dre, Snoop, Em > The Weekend, Shakira, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Gaga

Agreed. I don't mind this lineup though I really wish they'd give a rock group a chance to headline it (and I obviously don't count Coldplay as rock like some people do). Now that I think about it, the last appearance of a rock group was the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2014 when they did a song with Bruno Mars.

Eh I prefer showcasing one artist. Kendrick or Em solo would have been awesome. Like why not just call this Dre's halftime show with guests?

I agree.  Instead will get snippets of various songs.  Still going to be an amazing show.  Sounds like one of the best lineups since I was a kid.

@ichigo1057 I agree a rock band would be good, but at this point who?  I don't think there are many left that are relevant and that are main stream enough.  It would have to be a throwback type thing, kind of like this rap show is.

they went throwback rock band heavy after Nipplegate.    Stones, The Who.  I don't seem doing that anymore.   You got to switch generations at this stage in to who you are throwing back for.    I mean, this Dr/Em is hitting smack at the 40 year old crowd.  Which I think is about right.   Hard to cater to the 60+ year old crowd anymore at the Super Bowl (and that is what throwback rock would be at this point).   And there isn't really 40 year old rock throw back IMO to go.  Eddie Vedder ain't a halftime show and basically everyone else is gone from that era.   Chili Peppers already did it.

Yeahhh...when I said throwback rock I mean, Green Day.  Maybe Pearl Jam.

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
