So I had it backwards.  Excuse me.

He still is not good at his job.  It's easy to blame everyone else for his ineptitude so I would not hang my hat that.

I know this,  I  will not lose any sleep if he gets another gig somewhere else.

....you watch some of these other teams constantly attacking with high energy and creative aggressive play calling.... us, run up the middle behind a shttty line that we know is shitty...

...that Saints offense he's trying to imitate is not going so well for him.  He better start earning his hype status or he can gtfo.

All those career years last season say otherwise. Honestly, I think Bridgewater - while physically limited - might just be a better QB than Darnold.

If we fired Brady while only giving him Darnold and Bridgewater with a shoddy OL to work with in two years, I don't think we'd have good candidates exactly beating down our door seeking out his vacated position.

Panthers traded their mojo…Darnold to Arnold. I’m a huge Panthers fan, a season ticket holder and that trade will hurt us.

I don’t even know what to say to this.
Dan Arnolds trade is possibly the most inconsequential move yet.

A historically bad o-line, poor play calling, injuries to 3 of our best  players (CMC,Horn, Shaq).  But Dan Arnold is the straw that broke this beast?

Good lord.

If he gets hired away then so be it. Then it will be on Rhule to fix the mess. But he may be part of the problem.

I'm not impressed with him at all.

He's had a few good ones but its the baffling stuff that outshines any cool/good calls. There is just no justification to keep running up the gut on critical short yardage situations with backup RBs. No justification for it with CMC either really but he keeps doing that poo.

I agree.  The play calls are getting predictable and the routes are ass 90% of the time. Yesterday was the worst I've seen.

I think another aspect that people need to think about is how the plays are drawn up in terms of progressions. Our O-line is obvious dog poo so Sam needs to get the ball out quickly. And if your first read is an out route where Robby is literally jogging, well, that's not going to end up well with pressure. Now throw in the fact that we were running the same plays, a defense can easy add all this up coupled with film study and start jumping routes.

It just feels like there's more than simply "Darnold sucks" and "O-line sucks". I think it's the sum of the parts that are all out of sync. Well, that's what they pay the coaches to fix.

My take on Brady hasn't changed much.

He's pretty good in the area of play design.

Playcalling and game management? Eeehhh 😕

Right I mean I'm getting there with Rhule. He seems to be able to coach ability but may be worse than even Rivera in the 'in game' management.

Brady was so overhyped because of that LSU team. He wasn’t even the offensive coordinator or called any plays there.

As an LSU and Panthers fan, I think this cannot be said enough.  Ensminger was the OC in 2019 and Brady was there to "dial up" certain plays to attack weaknesses he saw during film and the game.  He never had to actually dictate an entire game and his lack of adjustments reflects this.

Look at what is occurring at LSU right now, they hired Jake Peetz thinking he'd replicate the "Brady Offense" and he seems to have some of the same issues as Brady- Stale ass playcalling and trying to run behind a putrid OL.  Hell, even the C's look like each other, they both get pushed back 5 yards every play into the QB.

Maybe the Panthers can bring in Shula to actually call the game and Brady can watch and draw up plays in his sandbox.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
