"Cam Erving is a former first rounder"

So evidently he agrees with his first round status, otherwise he wouldn't state it.

I just think he didn't really know how to answer a pointed question and was basically just babbling to avoid saying, "Listen, we thought they'd play better and we hoped they could overcome past injury issues. We were wrong. We bet on the wrong horses. poo happens. Fug."

I want to see what others see in Matt Rhule at the NFL level

Year two of rebuild

next year, year 3 of Rebuild

But it's no longer a rebuild.

Remember how this very board reacted to the Gilmore trade 10 days or so ago? That was after the CJ Henderson trade which occurred a few days prior. This place was abuzz with "Fitterer wants to win now!" "This isn't a rebuild anymore!"

Maybe the rebuilding begins with the OC, ST Coord and possibly the HC.

I mean I really wonder if some of these people actually think a coach is ever going to come out and say something like "that mfer sucks fugin ass, you see it, I see it, we see it, the gods see it, the spirits see it. Man is trash"

Never gonna happen so it's just bizarre the takes some of these people have regarding it.

LOL ….. I would love to hear them say “he was the best we could get for the money we were wanting to pay” “ yes, we know he is not the best, but that’s all we could get”

but as you said, it ain’t gonna happen

Maybe a coach on the way to retirement haha. IF you ever want to have a locker room though you can't be doing that poo.

part of the reason paradis looks so bad is being surrounded by flaming garbage on either side.

if we suddenly had even adequate LG play and a serviceable tackle we could scheme around RG and the line would be 1000% improved.

exactly why I've been yelling to start Irving at LG, he's actually a decent guard

    • We're at a point where general and advanced stats are all in alignment.  On top of that, his record, measurables, observable play, everything is in the red.  There is nothing beneficial in playing him anymore.  He's not helping anyone.  Not the team, nothing.  It's like people are just not wanting to crush his dreams at this point, but that is grossly silly at this point.     There comes a time where there's really no longer a need to even debate, no matter the mental makeup.  That is right now.  It sucks because I get it, people have a soft spot for the underdog/small guy who seemingly does all the right things from a PR standpoint.  There's a vested interest for him to succeed. But he's just not working out.  It doesn't matter that he understands the game well or is a nice guy.  If he can't play QB at this level, then he just simply can't.  And it's even more emphasized coming off that Atlanta performance to do this on a national stage.  The nation (before they turned off the game), finally saw what we've been seeing.  No sustained drives, had 3 INTs gifting amazing field position; mustered 3 points... And when he finally hit a good pass to Tmac, there was so much bad before, you don't even feel good about it.  But it gives his staunch fans that little bit of juice to go off of.   He had like brief 2 moments in 3 years where we thought he may, at best, be the guy who just beat us throwing 3 INTs or Tua.  The rest was all Kyle Orton/Sean Glennon level play or worse.  This was never a good situation for him, from hiring Reich, only to ship off 1sts, CMCs picks and DJ Moore for Bryce.  The pressure that came with that, the college hype, the fans who have been so passionate about proving that he's some advanced passer.  The essays explaining how he made a simple seam route throw in stride a time or two.   There's too much of a sample size and nothing to come from it.  We legitimately feel like we're in the same rudderless spot since that 1st start against ATL.  "Wait, he was supposed to be awesome, that can't be it.  Must be other reasons..." and then week after week after week, it's the same roller coaster, song and dance.  The dancing is over.  It is all there, laid bare.   He ain't it.  Move on.
    • Not running the ball when you have two good backs and letting little shitbird throw it around is insanity.
