Are people really trying to arguing Sam over Cam? I mean come on… Our game plan is currently “try to prevent Sam from losing the game.” Cam over Sam I don’t care what version of Cam it is… The only reason we tried Sam is our staff believed he has potential to be good. It looks like they were clearly wrong and they realized it.

It was never going to be a 1 year project with Sam. I don't know why nobody figured that out.

From the moment we got him I figured it would take 3 years not only to fix him but fix the line.

Everyone expecting him to come in this year and be Kurt Cousins was unrealistic in my opinion.

The expectations were for him to show improvement and look a lot better than he did on the Jets with no help. Our coaches talking about playoffs and picking up vets like Gilmore tells me they thought he was better than he is too and were ready to “win now” vs continuing to rebuild.

How is that racist?

Gerardo wrote a cool ass groove.

Exactly.   rico took out the racism card to accuse me apparently.   Maybe he should put that card back into where he pulled it out from(his butthole) and grow the f*ck up?  Just saying.   🙄

Cam is not coming back, rico.     CRY SOME MORE.

The only problem is that we only have 2 years(this year and next) to "fix him" and from what I've seen, I'm not sure there will be enough time for that to happen, if it's even possible.

It's been a 3.5 year project.

It failed every year.

3 years to figure it out? How about you give us the list of QB's that took 6 years to figure out how to play in the NFL?

My heart would love to see Cam come home but my head knows it ain’t happening for a myriad of reasons and even if we did sign him he wouldn’t be ready to play this week.

Also… based on what we’ve already invested in Darnold, having a beloved franchise legend former MVP QB breathing down his neck wouldn’t help us get return on that investment. First time Sam throws an incomplete pass the Cam chants will start.

I don't know.

Without looking I could be wrong on all of them but all 4 were considered busts 3 of 4 are in the hall but should be 4/4

Jake Delhomme

Kurt Warner

Terry Bradshaw

Steve Young?

Then you have Staubach who had to wait for the Vietnam War to be over.

Wasn't Plunket considered a bust too?

He was sitting home for a year before the crypt keeper called him to play for the Raiders.

Delhomme is the closest thing to that, and he was a Saints backup/NFL Europe qb for for 5 years, then got a 2 year $4m contract with the Panthers to compete for a starting job.

How are two street free agents with no NFL experience busts? How are you a bust as a UDFA? That is insanely ridiculous.

Bradshaw....eh....that's actually an interesting case. Mainly because he was never technically a great player at any point. Two of his three Pro Bowl seasons would make Jameis Winston blush. He's really a dude that won 4 Super Bowls by being on great teams and just not fuging it up. Interesting case but also a different era. I will say a hard maybe to that one.

Steve Young isn't a good example because while he may not have been good in his two years in Tampa, he ended up sitting behind one of the greatest QB's of all time in Joe Montana for 4 seasons. Was it because he took that long to adjust or was it that he was behind the best QB of his generation? Given that he immediately produced at an elite level, I would say the latter is far more likely. That is another extremely unique case but I am gonna say definitely not the same as Darnold taking 6 years.

I will partially agree with Bradshaw but we are also comparing him to a dreadful QB in a running era. Even if that were the case, the modern NFL doesn't have a place for a QB that bad anymore.

So, hard no and HELL no on Darnold taking 6 years. If he does, let him suck somewhere else trying to accomplish that.

Well Steve Young was USFL for what 3 years then 2 years in Tampa where he was considered a bust.

Let me check ok I was wrong 2 years USFL then considered a bust after 4 years then went and sat behind the 2nd greatest to ever do it.

Plunkett was considered a bust too.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
