The issue though is did it occur during the previous game. This is bigger than football at this point. If he had a shoulder thing on top of a concussion and they didn’t get him an MRI or even X-ray that’s negligence on the team doctors part.

If they did and didn’t announce it/let him play that’s also negligence up and down the staff, obviously a lot of players play with bangs and bruises going deeper into the season so it’s possible he said he could play and the doctors ok’d him on that fact.

If there was any possibility this happened the week before, why just announce an MRI now? It becomes liability at this point. Yes I agree sometimes hairlines can just be sore and perhaps everyone thought it was just soft tissue damage. But that leads back to why wasn’t he fully evaluated last week and is the medical staff at fault.

Well, that is also speculation on our part, in fairness. Maybe it really didn't happen against the Falcons. Maybe it did but there wasn't an obvious sign that there was an issue, other than maybe some soreness.

There are just as many valid reasons they wouldn't check him out or that Sam himself may have not really thought it was anything more than soft tissue damage.

I am not even saying they might not have fuged something up but we really don't and won't know the complete situation unless Darnold decides to say something.

Darnold has looked bad but not last game bad. I could tell he wasn't his "usual" self.

I don't know what this franchise is doing anymore.

Building defense and not STs or Offense.

Maybe next year they'll spend all 1 and half draft picks on offense.

lol this thread. QBs play injured regularly in the NFL. Blaming the coaches for playing an injured QB.. as if this is something that is not regularly done in the NFL.

2018 - Aaron Rodgers Sprained MCL and Fractured Knee

2020 - Tom Brady torn MCL through the entire season

2020- Drew Brees fractured ribs

2021- Wentz two sprained ankle and a fractured foot

2021 - Tua playing with fractured ribs

2021 - Baker Mayfield shoulder tear

This didnt even take more than 60seconds to dig up. I know I'm missing a bunch. This is normal. It's not like the coaching staff is holding a gun to the kid's head and saying "play or die."

If medical professionals are clearing these guys, and they elect to play... why would you blame the coaching staff? They aren't doctors and they damn for sure dont know these guy's bodies. This is what these players get paid millions of dollars to do. Play a violent sport every sunday for us keyboard warriors.

Dude, the posters complaining mostly do not care about the facts.  I've tried to use facts several times to no avail.  Never even acknowledged.

You can either prove me wrong or right. I don't care at all. I am not triggered like you appear to be.

Just stating the obvious.

right...You don't care...which is why you called me and @1usctrojan out for no reason.  Because "you don't care".  🙄

Mind you, I was perfectly fine in participating in this thread about Scapula-gate (hence my earlier post discussing it) before you decided to toss a grenade on everything.    I believe that's what's called "baiting" but whatever...

Baker Mayfield is literally playing with a torn labrum

"But negligent Panthers hurr hurr!!"

What Darnold has is something that he can play through.  Him sucking has nothing to do with the injury.  He just sucks.

Baker”s  injury is on his non throwing arm and shoulder

Darnold’s is on his throwing arm

Bit of difference there

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
