What are the odds we do a sign and trade?

About the same as Trent Scott's PFF grade. Virtually zero. I know they are fairly common in the NBA, but I can't recall when a sign and trade has been done in the NFL.

Don’t let two bad games twist your opinion on Jackson, if he can be retained without blowing our cap he definitely should, otherwise let him walk

The last two weeks haven't change my opinion of Jackson. I've said all season he wasn't worth extending and was only putting the effort in because it was a contract year.

setting ourself up for the ol injury excuse. Jackson is a good young corner, I would try to make an offer to him and Gilmore and see what happens

Would like both back, but realistically, signing both hampers our chances to boost the offensive line, which MUST be corrected if we want to have a chance

I don’t think so same things we’ve seen from donte is what you get from him year in and out, he always has a couple games where he gets roasted, that’s expected as long as his role is 2nd cb, he shouldn’t and we shouldn’t pay him #1 cb money based off availability and performance

Is he really worth 7-10x the amount of Rasul Douglas for example? He's obviously not a number 1 CB, his thing is speed but he gets burned by Antonio Brown's and Waddle's, too short to cover the taller guys. I'd roll with Gilmore/Horn/Taylor/Bouye. Gilmore is a luxury because he probably wants to play a couple more years at home but at the same time won't mail it in

The Panthers shouldn't pay him at all. Too many younger and cheaper guys behind him as well as Bouye and possibly Gilmore on a team friendly extension. Let some other team make the mistake of overpaying him for contract year performance.

    • So you're saying you'd still go back and take the inferior talents, just because you think they fit with Bryce better, a player who is more likely than not, to no longer be a Panther next year? That's just crazy to say, wanting to have a worse player because you think they fit better with your awful QB is just dumb.  You take the best players, if your existing players then aren't good enough, you replace them later. It's crazy that there are still people with this take after they've seen what T-Mac can do for us in just 5 games so far.
    • I have seen Bryce make some outstanding throws but what he is up against is even when the WRs get a little separation, that tightens up while the ball is in the air. By degrees depending on the distance. Not as critical on the short stuff.
    • Being in Atlanta would be worse than being in Dallas.  Haha.  Luckily there is a great Panthers bar here with like 40(ish) fans who are from the Carolinas or a fan of the team.
