Did you see what the Patriots did last night...

True, but the NE coaching staff was smart enough to realize what the weather would dictate for the game and they did exactly that with their play calling.

That's good coaching.

In regular NFL games their super jumbo package would always be useful in short yardage / goal line situations.  Areas where the Panthers have been weak all season.

Mac Jones has 16 TD this season.

To Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Nelson Agholor, and Kendrick Bourne - all players not with NE last season

sounds like the best coach in the NFL took a rookie QB.....inserted him into a well built team that believes in running and playing defense.  And when he does pass the football he is throwing to a diverse cast of veteran players.

Mac Jones is the only rookie QB actually in a position to succed.   Maybe Lance too but he isn't playing.

There is a reason he is having a good season and Trevor Lawerence isn't.  And it has little to do with Mac and Trevor.

I LOVED the old school throwback game. This game was a chess match and McD got schooled by a chessmaster

I wish we could adopt the Patriots way and hire a guy like Josh McDaniels, he is poised to be a great coach in his second run.

Bill and Josh knew the weather conditions so they improvised and stuck with the game plan, it was AWESOME smash mouth football in an era of 40+ point games

    • Velocity MPH. Okay, that’s a number in isolation. what if CJ has a nice 85% effort motion that does what he is looking for? And Young has to step into things to get even 2 mph behind him?  I don’t KNOW that about either it is just an example of numbers don’t always tell all, but when I look at Young throw it reminds me of someone like Fran Tarkenton. A throwback non athletic weak armed scrambler for those of you who don’t remember. Had a great career in the old smaller slower but much meaner NFL. Would not today, IMO.  I think the arm strength questions, are plenty fair. And the eyeball test, it does mean something. Who would take Bryce Young over CJ Stroud or Richardson based on his arm? It is obvious to the naked eye where they stack up.
    • Jarvis gets the first and the game winner!
    • Somehow win tonight and this series has a good chance to go 7 where anything can happen. will be an extremely tough test tonight though, probably the toughest game of the entire Rod era. Personally I'd go with Koochie but it'll prob be Freddie. Expecting a loss tonight so I don't get upset if it happens, but if we did somehow do the impossible and reverse sweep these fugers it'll be the happiest I've been about sports maybe ever (wasn't following the canes closely for our cup win otherwise that's obviously #1). Making the SB in '15 is up there right now but this could surpass that, especially if we can continue the run into the cup finals
