I keep seeing people post here with the opinion that Tepper won’t fire Rhule this year because of the contract. Yeah right. Tepper ain’t gonna let some fat turd college coach suck whatever hope and morale is left out of the team and fanbase to save a couple bucks. Ruhle is a dead man walking.

Firing rhule after 2 years is the exact opposite of what he learned and saw up in pittsburgh.  I think Rhule gets one more year to show significant progress.

Which makes me think he will go qb in the top 10 out of desperation further sinking this poo franchise.  Our only hope is that Tepper strips him of power and let Fitt run the show.   But even then that doesnt give me any warm and fuzzies seeing how fuged the seahawks are now particularly their oline

Definitely Hurney himself. Continuity, take the time to learn the business, etc, etc.

In one way, Hurney and Rhule could be the same guy.

Both are socially adept at charming their boss' socks off.  That has resulted in Marty and Matt being promoted to their respective levels of incompetence.

It is just "dumb luck" that Panthers fans have witnessed lighting strike twice in the same place within a matter of years.

Yeah see how many fans were left in the 4th quarter on Sunday? Empty seats aren't buying $12 beers. Tepper probably already has the numbers to know how many games with a full stadium/winning team will cover Rhules $50m

Rhule's appears to prefer to keep the same close cadre of support personnel with him wherever he goes.

I suspect he doesn't like outsiders or newcomers and that Hurney was gonna be forced out at the first opportunity Rhule had.

If I had to guess, Rhule doesn't like the idea that anyone in an organization knows more than he does.

And yeah, I'm talking about Marty Hurney.

Worth remembering that he didn't just bring coaching staff. He also brought in people that he installed in the front office.

Granted, one of them left under suspicious circumstances (Sean Padden, Vice President of Football Operations) but he still has allies and at least a potential ally in Pat Stewart.

Im still in the 3rd year camp.....but he must have them firmly in the playoff race until week 18. If not, get rid of him.

I dont see how, unless the NFC south became 100% trash(brady finally leaves, ryan is traded, siants cap issues etc, etc)

Rhule has little to nothing at QB, a rookie is not taking this young group to the playoffs. OL looks like its another 3 years away form being decent(elf has been looking "ok" at C). CMC can not be the center of the whole plan while he gos on IR for the 18th time. Still need something form the TEs. Besides shaq group needs 5 new players.

Honestly DL needs talent as well. Brown, whom I had as a breakout player has played flat the whole year. Reddick and Burns are 225 LBs pass rushers whom have issues in run defensive.

I have them at 6.7% chance to make the 2022 playoffs, Tepper better start right looking for 2023 HC, putting whispers out in coaching world.

I hear what you saying but Matt Ruhle is nowhere near Mike Tomlin or Bill Cowher. I’d love to see their first two years in Pitt compared to Ruhle’s here.

Issues in run defense is saying it lightly

Every team we play runs right at burns almost every play

id trade him right now if we could get a 2nd rounder for him

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
