What do we even have to be excited about next year? The Panthers will end the season as one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Welp I’m watching Red Zone today so I’m watching all the games. The Texans absolutely pasted the Chargers today. The Lions almost beat the Falcons with a backup QB. The Jets and Jaguars are both competitive today with rookie QBs. The Giants stink but they’re also playing a backup QB and blew the Panthers out earlier this year. Can’t say the Giants are worse than the Panthers. 

The Panthers are the only team getting blown out every single game. 

So who is worse???

      To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.

      Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
