Kenny Pickett will be our 22nd starter. Tepper wants the coach, GM, QB trifecta. Look at all the desperate moves we’ve made at the QB position. All of us want to fix the o-line first but we’re taking Pickett if he’s there. Maybe if we change our blocking schemes and move on from this basic offense some of the o-lineman will get better.

Every lineman has taken a big step backwards this season. I’m hoping a new offense fixes those problems because unless Pickett is taken before us, we’re not picking any lineman in the first round.

that's so Panthers and yet I have to hope it doesn't happen.

If the FO has any sense, kick the qb can down the road til next year.

I would agree but from signing Teddy to their attempts to trade for Stafford and Watson and the Darnold trade should give all of us an idea how important it is to them to get a franchise QB. We’re going QB and might even trade up to get one. Contrast that with our O-line, our FO doesn’t think we need to use high draft picks there.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
