David Tepper gave Matt Rhule a 7 year $62m contract. Rhule never beat a ranked team as head coach of the Baylor football team.

Don't forget that Rhule was going to accept the jets job, but the jets backed out when Rhule said he was going to only bring his college staff and wouldn't allow the jets to make any input on his assistant coaches because Rhule wanted his guys. Let it sink it that THE JETS where smart enough to see that it was a bad idea so much so that they chose ADAM GASE who already failed as the coach of the dolphins. They chose a coach that they got to see fail fist hand over Rhule and his guys.

Rhule and Gase are both frauds.

Two total wins vs. ranked opponents in college. Both at Temple. The two teams? Navy and ECU. Both dropped from the rankings after losing to Temple on their way to .500ish seasons.

I brought up this concern when we hired Rhule. I was roundly criticized and mocked because Tepper made wealthy people even wealthier by moving money around so he couldn't possibly fail at building a dominant football organization. 😂

Who here was actually excited by the hire in the first place? I never understood it or bought in. I figured people knew something I didn’t when it came to Rhule

A lot of people were excited. I made a thread right after Rhule was hired saying that nepotism would torpedo the Rhule era before it started because he’s so unqualified to be an NFL head coach he needed NFL veteran coaches to guide him along. I was reamed in that thread. Everyone agrees with me now though LOL

I remember there being excitement, but I just never understood why. Now I know it’s because a lot of people here don’t know what the fug they are talking about

He got outcoached by Tom f*cking Herman

I had a little league basketball coach who literally just told us "you gotta believe, boys!" constantly and his play calls consisted of numbers corresponding to the positions. Like "124" means the PG is supposed to pass to the SG who passes to the PF who shoots. This is to occur no matter what the defense is doing. It took the first opposing coach about a half to figure this out. Our goose was cooked from that point on.

Anyway... long story short... that mouth breathing moron could coach circles around Fatt Rhule.

    • Lol. The Texans are literally one of Bryce's six career NFL wins. WTF are you talking about?
    • Yeah, I mean it is a statistical fact and also part of literally a player evaluation. Winston has literally lost dozens of games in his NFL career due to crippling TO's. It's just who he is. Look, it's fun when those insane throws work and he is leading you back from some crazy deficit. But those success are rare. It's why his career GWD count is so low. He's fun but he is fundamentally built to lose games.  If you are talking about a backup QB, you are literally already losing in the first place. That's how you see a backup QB and that's overwhelmingly what they tend to do. Rookie QB's almost always benefit from veteran QB's. Same as literally any other position in the NFL. Why do you think that you so often hear that from the playera themselves? As for Bryce NEEDING one, no he sure as poo shouldn't this late in the game. But he also shouldn't have needed this fuging long to get his fuging footwork straightened out either. Yet here we are.
    • Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
