He is not the answer man.  Like REALLY not the answer.  A part of me loves the idea because I freaking love John H as a coach but a stretch.  If it happens I will support but hell, I still support Rhule.  He hasn’t had enough time here IMO.

The absolute hatred for Matt Rhule is pretty amazing.  Sign of the times but Rhule has tried hard to build a team in 2 years and because he isn’t winning he is called a joke.  I don’t get it.  He does know football.

Jmo ..

I'd rather stick with Rhule one more year then go to another "hot now" coordinator with no HC experience and will take more years to figure out how to do that.. Or retread with moderate nfl success..

But Harbaugh is a different story.. That's like getting Arians or Carroll or Reid type of coach.. Dude has won and been successful where ever he goes and has a Culture ready to go day 1.. You can't pass that up..

It's not entirely because he isn't winning at all. It's because he's regressed in ways no one on this board could have predicted possible. Pair that with the fact that he's a liar who only looks out for his own - it's no surprise that a lot of folks aren't buying what he's selling now.

Is the defense better since he got here?  You can’t just discount that.  Did he walk in here knowing everything, no.  Who does?  I like Matt Rhule as a coach and leader.  I really do.  People love to tear everyone down these days but in time I think he could turn this around

The QB situation was a debacle…a learning experience.  You have to draft your QB almost always.

The OL has been the complete downfall of this team.  He definitely learned that this year.  NFL DLs are light years more talented than college

The Big 12 probably hasn’t had a player at DT like Derrick Brown in many years.

If I were Tepper I would come out with big balls and tell the world Matt Rhule is here to stay.  Fug all the bullshet and let him do the job he was hired for…he can do it.

Bring in a proper OC and get to work.

True, although the talent gap between Georgia and Michigan was substantial.  Michigan OL won the Joe Moore award but not sure they were the best OL.  Bama and Georgia as good or better.

Georgia had better talent everywhere except probably the Michigan DEs

Who recruited and coached that talent at Michigan?  I say we keep looking.

Most of our best players on the team now who want to achieve great things but may have very little time. They're in their prime now like CMC,DJ,B.Burns for example.

All this rebuilding is amateur talk. If you don't WIN in the NFL you won't have a job. You should be building your team to win every season.

lol oh ok, let’s see if we were to land Harbaugh we more than likely would move to a 3-4 base, thus moving Burns and Reddick (if retained) back to OLB. However, we would need to get a few more Bravvion Roy’s for DEs, and that will take a season or two. That is with Harbaugh. Rebuilding will happen regardless of who replaces Rhule. It’s not amateur talk to think it may take an additional season or two to adjust to a scheme and playbook change.

Recruiting in college takes years usually.  Example of a coach that gets it is Brian Kelly.  LSU is always an amazing pool for recruiting.  LSU will challenge in the SEC very quickly.  Michigan is not a destination team especially with Ohio State in your conference.

If Kelly recruits a really good QB that will be the difference for them.  They always get amazing talent otherwise

Lol what “proper” OC is going to want to work with Matt Rhule?

I’ll wait.

The absolute hatred for Matt Rhule is pretty amazing.  Sign of the times but Rhule has tried hard to build a team in 2 years and because he isn’t winning he is called a joke.  I don’t get it.  He does know football.  Of course he was going to struggle in the NFL.  Every coach does…this league is brutally hard to win at

To me it’s not the fact that our team is bad.  I’ve seen worse Panthers teams. It’s Rhule’s double standards and the complete regression across the board, despite having more talent on the team.  He claims that he won’t make comments on game day until after he looks at film, but when the starting QB isn’t his guy, he will throw him under the bus without a second thought.

Joe Brady wasn’t his guy and he went out of his comfort zone to hire him.  Joe Brady, who was the passing coordinator of the leading pass offense in college football history at the time, only to be given a poo OL and poo QBs.  Then when it wasn’t working he tells Brady to just run more.  He gets fired, the offense somehow looks even worse after his buddy is promoted.

It’s not just one thing, but a complete failure around the board.  Like I’ve said before, the last Chiefs game was a well coached game and Rhule actually did show some promise last year.  But he doesn’t know how to build an NFL team.  The more time he has, the worse we are.  It’s that simple.  We are laughably bad and I don’t have faith in us beating any team except maybe, mayyybe the Jags.

Harbaugh has a connection to Jacksonville with Trent Baalke.

Good chance if Fangio is let go in Denver he would reunite with Harbaugh in the NFL that would be a silver lining. Fangio and this Defense would be something to see. Fangio has already been here before for those that remember.

Would also add that Vic Fangio’s current OC is Pat Shurmur (no connection) but the QB coach is a very familiar face-Mike Shula.

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
