If not, Tepper is a joke owner.  No way you would give an unproven coach like Rhule that type contract and not have an offset clause in it.

it’s pretty basic.

just goes to show just because you are hyper successful in one aspect of life….it doesn’t mean you are universally good at everything.  That’s massive mistake by Tepper.   They are compounding.   Overpay Rhule.  Don’t have an offset clause.  Feel forced to watch a mistake continue because of your dumb move.

Well along with being a football fool he seems to be pretty full of himself

Tepper's silence speaks volumes.  I think he's on the fence, but could go either way.

Agreed.

Big Tepp's DNA and the world in which he made his fortune would portend for Rhule's metaphorical head being lopped off before the Cuban coffee is served in the Panthers offices after lunch on Monday...

...we shall see 🧐

(Rhule should have put Tepper on the spot, asked for his endorsement/clarification)

Does anybody think Rhule goes home and actually worries about how poor of a job he’s done or whether he’ll be let go. He’s one of those guys who always got paid and somehow made it while performing crap work. I’m sure we’ve all known those type of  guys. People are bemoaning about whether we will be stuck with him another year worried how long of a dark stretch we will have to endure while that dude went home, took a nice turd after 6 burritos, and kicked back laughing.

This is painfully true as much as it hurts to read.

The thing about success is it takes time. Tepper is making typical new owner mistakes. It's why normally a team like the Panthers don't get sold to a new owner. Either way we look like a dumpster fire at a organizational level right now and a personal level as well.

    • Joe Person   @josephperson · 16m     Panthers become the 1st team this yr with 5 weekly winners: Rico Dowdle, Ryan Fitzgerald, Sam Martin, Tre'von Moehrig and Bryce. Panthers last did that in 2017: Cam Newton, Julius Peppers, Luke Kuechly, Jonathan Stewart and Damiere Byrd.
    • Gotta wonder if Smitty's brain has turned to mush with how hard he played in the NFL
    • OK, fair enough--however, since my point was that drafting a QB in the top 10 is stupid, if you consider the players who were not drafted in the top 10 or those who WERE drafted in the top 10 and did not secure starting positions with the team that drafted them, you should see the point.  Is it smart to draft a QB in the top 10 when only 4 are still starting for the team that drafted them.  Next, consider that half of that number, 2, were drafted outside the first round.  Next, there are 4 (Goff, Mayfield, Jones, and Darnold) who are starting on other teams after busting.   That number could increase as Arizona seems ready to move on from Murray, Miami is not sold on Tua, and jacksonville is still waiting for Trevor to start looking elite.  Bryce?   So to answer your question, there are MANY more QBs in the NFL who have busted and become starters on other rosters, were drafted after day 1, or are still on the cusp than the four who have become elite.  I thought that point was made.
