I'd rather trade a current player than trade back in round 1.

I was also listening to The Athletic podcast a few days ago and they said trading back could be particularly difficult in this draft because it's not seen as a top-heavy draft. Of course all it takes is one team to fall in love with a guy, but trading back isn't near as easy as the PFF draft machine would lead you to believe.

The Athletic Football Podcast is legit and Brugler's show the other day highlighted this well.  It's not likely we're able to trade down.

If no QB is picked before the panthers pick, that could force a great haul offer.

I still think its 60/40 they trade, Id prefer to pick a 15 year LT and be done with it. But if the LT run happens 1-5, Im more than open to trading back. Tho one of those DE would be fine as well, just not a Hucth fan(pass on him that early)

I feel we are going to trade down for pennies on the dollar just on general principle

The one team that I can see having the capital to take a gamble are the Broncos.  It all hinges on if they land Rogers or Wilson.  Thing is, rumblings are DEN wants Rogers.

However, if they don't, can easily see them leaping NYG and ATL to assure themselves Corral or Pickett.

New coach, they haven't gambled on a 1st round QB since Paxton Lynch and I doubt they want to roll with another middle of the pack QB.  They also have (2) 2nds and (2) 3rds.  Could easily them making the gamble to keep up with Herbert and Mahomes.

We'd stay near the top of the draft and probably land pick 60 (2nd) or (75 3rd+a 5th)

--

I just don't see another team.  Given the top talent, I just don't see a team trading up a bunch of picks so it would have to be top 15-ish. ATL isn't trading, NYG and NYJ already have picks ahead of us, best other bets are WAS, CLE or MINNY but I just don't see any of them THAT desperate.

It's why I keep thinking there won't be many calls, and that war room may look and say, well do we pick our favorite QB in this draft and take the first one off the board? And ensue CH mayhem.

The senior bowl week is going to be so insane.

It's tough to say he is or isn't a "difference maker" without an OL or a quarterback who can consistently threaten downfield. Those two factors make not only Moore's job more difficult but also makes life much easier for opposing defenses. You can replace the wide receiver under those conditions but the results will remain. I'm not above trading anyone on this roster as of this moment. But for a franchise that has seen massive investments in defense and a meh approach to offense more often than not over the years result in 7 winning seasons and no back to back winning seasons you're gonna have to forgive me if I'm hesitant to jump for joy at selling off offensive assets after what we've invested in defense. The league is changing and we need to finally switch gears ourselves. I want to build a good offense and finally try another way and if that means a very good defensive player is traded so be it.

I’m with you on starting with offense first then defense. One of the reasons I was initially excited for Rhule was on the predication we would be switch gears to offense first. I would only be comfortable trading DJ for picks if it contributes to building in a very under invested and weak OL. We can’t make the most of our offensive weapons till that is fixed. Having one top 100 pick this season makes that hard to do. Most importantly DJ is a free agent in after what will be a lame duck year. I don’t think this team has the luxury of putting money into a WR who isn’t necessarily game changing.

For real. All QBs have so much to gain. If Corral, Willis or Ridder can dazzle like Zach Wilson did last year, they could skyrocket up boards. I can also see a PIT or NO falling for Strong.

I don't think we will be able to get much for Bouye.... What do you guys realistically think we could get in return for Bouye in terms of draft picks? I feel like a third is way too rich for him, but if someones willing to do that, do it immediately.

Reflecting on that one more, he's not worth a 3rd in the offseason, he may, however be worth a 3rd mid season before the deadline for a contender looking to replace an injured starter.

Really just supply and demand at this point. Realistically, he's a 4th/5th round value in a trade at this moment, but if a team gets desperate enough, it could become a 3rd.
