OL Coaches connected to McAdoo

I also would prefer Marrone but he just joined Alabama so I don't think he's going anywhere.   And according to Wikipedia Warhop & Campen have current NFL jobs so I can't see them moving either.

So Pat Flaherty seems like the most obvious choice.   He's probably available since Flaherty was just an advisor for the Giants.   He has great experience with 12 years as the Giants OL coach.   But Flaherty may have been fired by McAdoo since Flaherty's tenure in NY ended when McAdoo was the teams OC.  Also Miami HC Brian Flores fired Flaherty just four days into the 2019 training camp for failure to implement the team's new blocking schemes (which had been an ongoing issue since spring practices).  And he's 65 so no spring chicken.  Lots of questions about him . . .

I believe Mike Solari in Seattle worked with him as well when he was HC. I don’t think Mike would leave for that nor would I want him. I think Campen is the best choice. Flaherty is a disaster. Flores fired him during training camp  for not being able to implement the new scheme in time.

I don’t think Marrone would leave Alabama for this

With the Jaguars and Texans, both of whoms head coaches have been fired.

I forgot about that aspect.

In that case, I'd go for James Campen without a doubt.  He played Center in the NFL for 8 years and then became the long-time Packers OL coach (2007-2017).  During that time Green Bay had multiple Pro Bowl OL selections.

Also just listen to what the Houston Texans Center Justin Britt has to say about him:

“I love James Campen,” Britt said on Jan. 10. “If I could have it my way, I’d want to play for him for the rest of my career. He was someone who literally made every day enjoyable.

See my fast insight picked Campen!! That link AUpanther had spoke highly of him too.

Not going to get my hopes up, cause I think Rhule still wants to use the wide zone concepts. Macadoo should have input as well, who knows they may go to whole another system.

My pick too.

That said, even with the pro to college comparison, if you had the choice to continue coaching under Nick Saban in Alabama vs coming to work for Matt Rhule in Carolina, you might have to stop and think about it.

Could you imagine going from Saban to Rhule? Why the hell would you EVER do that? Screw jumping from college to pro. Choose competency always.

Bad news for fans of James Campen (me among them).

Aaron Wilson says the Texans are looking to hang on to Campen as part of their next head coach's staff. Since he signed a three year contract with them last year, they do have that option.

As we previously heard, they're also wanting to keep Pep Hamilton along with DC Lovie Smith and ST Coach Frank Ross.
