2022 QB options

Its hard to say what will happen. I really wonder how Rhule and Fit consider the current players they have on the Roster. I'm sure they want someone else to compete with Sam at QB. How much say will Macadoo have in choosing what happens. You'd think he is going to institute a completely new offense (differnt blocking schemes..everything). Is the plan to try to fit it to Darnold....or is it to build an offense and then find a guy he wants to run it. Is that guy already in the League somewhere. I seen people in the Media say he was hired to fix Sam but I hope he was brought in the take control of the offense and bring in players who can run it.

I respectfully disagree.  He isn’t close to Lamar Jackson who is on another level as a runner.  I am extremely hesitant with guys that did it against bad comp and struggle mightily against decent defenses.

Not buying the hype.  There are much better options.  All these QBs are a reach at 6 but Willis would be a bad bet for a ton of reasons

If I am picking one of these guys I am looking for a passer.  Howell, Corral and Willis won’t survive running in the league for long.

The Senior Bowl will be interesting for Willis particularly

Combine as well.  Will be interesting to see actual measurements for Howell and Corral and others.  Willis will have a great opportunity to show the athleticism there as well

Rodgers is an idiot. If you have Rodgers you aren't rebuilding. Tampa was rebuilding then they got Brady and the rebuild was over.

They added Brady....AND AB ,Gronk ,Fournett plus the 2 #1 receivers they already had. So it wasn't just adding Brady and thr rebuild was over

What I want is to run it back and take it on the chin for one more season while building the O line.

What tepper wants is Watson and asses in the seats.

Rhule probably wants is Pickett.

Fits probably wants to separate himself from the decision because I think next season is going to be rough no matter which way we go.

If we’re getting a new QB I would prefer to draft one. However, I think Rhule should be forced to stick with Darnold and get himself out of the mess he created. I don’t care if it’s a make it or break it year. He got himself in this poo so he should get himself out and not leverage this team’s future.

Nah, Rhule is going to 'Hurney' this thing up right as Tepper shows him the door next season.  We'll have stupid contracts, hardly any cap space and no better off than this year.

Willis at 6 would be a disaster.

I wouldn’t want him at 6 either. I wouldn’t want any of these rookie QBs at 6. If we traded back and took Linderbaum you’d use the extra pick to take Willis if he was still around.

basically this.  GM should draft OL talent.  Make Rhule ride or die with Sam.   And Sam can ride or die with Rhule's overpaid Robby Anderson.

    • I dont necessarily disagree just really curious as to why that is?  He either must be a dunce, a bad teammate or must be horrendous in practice because I thought he showed promise at least in his 2nd year
    • Its AI but here goes nothing:   Trevor Lawrence's catchable ball statistics vary by situation, with his highest rate being 74.1%74.1 % 74.1% in a clean pocket and his lowest on deep balls at 41.2%41.2 % 41.2% . When pressured, his catchable pass rate is 51.6%51.6 % 51.6% , and it's 55.2%55.2 % 55.2% on play-action plays. Lawrence has also been impacted by a high receiver drop rate, which makes it appear as if he is more inaccurate than he is.  Catchable pass rate by situation  Clean pocket: 74.1%74.1 % 74.1% (ranks 28th out of 32 quarterbacks) Deep balls: 41.2%41.2 % 41.2% (ranks 23rd out of 32 quarterbacks) When pressured: 51.6%51.6 % 51.6% (ranks 15th out of 32 quarterbacks) On play action: 55.2%55.2 % 55.2% (ranks 28th out of 32 quarterbacks) Red zone: 65.1%65.1 % 65.1% (ranks 15th out of 32 quarterbacks) When blitzed: 69.2%69.2 % 69.2% (ranks 19th out of 32 quarterbacks)    Compared to:   Bryce Young's catchable ball stats vary by situation, with a high catchable pass rate of 73.2%73.2 % 73.2% in a clean pocket (30th in the NFL) and a 60%60 % 60% rate on deep throws (20+ air yards), which was 10th in the NFL in 2024. However, his pressured and blitzed catchable rates were lower at 39.7%39.7 % 39.7% (31st) and 60.3%60.3 % 60.3% (29th), respectively.  By situation  Clean pocket: 73.2%73.2 % 73.2% catchable pass rate (30th in NFL) Deep ball (20+ air yards): 60%60 % 60% catchable pass rate (10th in NFL in 2024) Pressure: 39.7%39.7 % 39.7% catchable pass rate (31st in NFL) Blitzed: 60.3%60.3 % 60.3% catchable pass rate (29th in NFL) Red zone: 62.5%62.5 % 62.5% catchable pass rate (22nd in NFL)
    • Same slant as before, dude. Look, it doesn't matter what mental gymnastics you apply to the story. You cannot remove Bryce from being a part of why we won these games. He did his job. In some games better than others? Yes, but the end result still matters. The wins are team wins. The losses are team losses  And Bryce plays a key role in the team. Like I said earlier, continue arguing that he should be replaced. I'm doing that as well.  But denying reality doesn't help your argument. It actually weakens it.
