The Hornets reached out to the 76ers about Ben Simmons. It’s highly likely that it was just Kup doing due diligence but NBC Sports designed the following trade for shits and giggles.

Hornets Receive: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris

76ers Receive: Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, Kelly Oubre, and a 1st round pick

Would you do that trade?

The Hornets roster would look like this:

G - LaMelo Ball, Ish Smith

G - Ben Simmons, James Bouknight

F - Miles Bridges, Cody Martin

F - Tobias Harris, Jalen McDaniels

C - Mason Plumlee, P.J. Washington

Thor, Jones, Richards, and Carey rounding out the bench.

Looking back over Ben Simmons everyone knows he can’t shoot but his attitude is the bigger issue.  That plus the 76ers insanity with how much he is worth.  Probably best to stay away from Ben entirely

Lose way too much scoring in that scenario.  Keep Scary out and maybe we're interested but Oubre & Terry have been part of why we're winning this season.  We really just need a reliable big 4/5 that can rim protect and contribute more than the Zellers and Plumlees of the world.

I’d pass on that. I don’t mind letting Gordon or Oubre go, but not for that. Adding a 1st is insulting

Hornets are on a role with good teammates and good chemistry. Why mess it up just because he is a hyped name? Ben is broken, he would not add any perimeter shooting and he is a cancer. No thanks.

Simmons would f*ck up the Hornets chemistry. Hard pass. Guy is a cancer and not generating any trade interest.
