I may all for signing a C and OG in FA and then drafting a QB.  It’s high time we at least swing at a QB in the draft so we can have a little excitement heading into the season.  I’m guessing it will be Pickett…and I’m ok with that.  If we do trade CMC for a first rounder than use it to take a MLB or OL

"The narrative is everyone thinks the QBs suck"..... "but not this Panthers staff" who has proven time and time again to get it right at the QB position. I hope y'all know this is Rhule in the building insisting on this to buy him some more time.

With the reports that nearly everyone on the roster is on the table to be traded, I'm now terrified that Rhule is here beyond next year.

If Rhule's job was on the line, why potentially trade away our decent players & essentially punt on next year?  If Rhule gets to tear it down again, pick a QB, & trade away our decent players? Bills Mafia, here I come.

So the brain(less) trust responsible for selecting Darnold over all the other QBs from quality class last year want to also try to choose the best QB from a much weaker class banking that they can find the diamond from the mix?

This. I agree with them that there will probably be at least one quality QB in this class but their odds of identifying and choosing that QB is worse than Hurney's odds in the 2nd round.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
