Panthers agreed to terms with S Xavier Woods, formerly of the Vikings, on a three-year, $15.75 million contract.

A sixth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2017, Woods took a one-year deal with the Vikings last offseason and played the sixth-most safety snaps in football this past year. He received strong marks for his run defense from Pro Football Focus and will slide in next to Jeremy Chinn at safety for the Panthers with Juston Burris and Sean Chandler free agents

I hope it doesn't mean Chinn is gone. I hope he's signed to play FS with Chinn at SS. Chinn is a SS. That's where he needs to be.

That's my question.. Chinn lined up at Ss predominantly right?? Because Woods is a FS..

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
