IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME FROM THE LAST GAME MINUS ONE PERSON JFC

BC was an upgrade at LT the last 2-3 games. Starting BC keeps Erving from LT which makes it an upgrade, the guards were our weak spot and now we got a solid one to replace 1 of the 2. Elf was serviceable at C (also different as we started Paradis until he got hurt). So 3/5 would be new starters that what we started with last year (BC, Corbett, and Elf at C) and Moton is solid at RT. Throw in an OL coach that knows what he is doing and yeah it’s an upgrade. Still have a weak spot at LG with C and LT able to be upgraded, but instantly better than what we trotted out last year.

Yeah for now, BC-guard-Elf-Corbett-Moton. Deonte played LG in college so that's probably the placeholder

Cam is not coming back

If we don’t get Watson I think Cam is very much in play.

To be honest it’s possible we field a better team this year with Cam, a rebuilt o-line, and  all of our draft assets vs Watson and stripped bare defense, and likely no CMC or  DJ.

Newton has looked worse and worse every game since midseason of 2018.  He is not reversing that trend.

I love Cam.  Favorite player.  But I'd much rather watch Darnold continue to suck than Cam outstay his welcome.  It was fun to have Cam back and get the closer both sides needed, but it is time to move on.

If Cam wants to play, he should do it in a Taysom Hill kind of role for a contending team.  Lot of value for him there.  But as a starting QB?  He sucks.  So does Darnold but Darnold is already signed to the roster.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
