If we can get Watson and not give up any players, I'm all for that at almost any cost... want our next 5 first rounders?  Take them

But I just can't get on board with 3 first rounders plus two of our best young defensive players, losing the combination of all that would decimate our ability to build a competitive team around Watson, particularly the defense.

But if we can keep say Chinn and Horn and give them 2 way future first rounders instead... COUNT ME IN... as by that time, those should be more like early second round picks anyways.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Reality:  If Tepper wins the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, the Panthers are gonna get fleeced.

Might as well announce:  It's open season on Tepper and Rhule fellas!  Release the hounds!

... So if I understand this correctly, Watson has to remove the trade clause in order for another team to sign him...

If thats the case than once Watson 'chooses a team' its in Watson's best interest to make his 'new team' trade as little as possible for him.

So that would put the negotiating power back into the hands of the team that he choose.

Am I understanding that incorrectly?

This join is going to be rainbows and honey dew for the foreseeable future. Any Tepper slander will be met with a firm banning. Anything short of verbally felating Fitterer/Rhule will be seen as an aggressive attack on the best coach/GM in the NFL.

Of course, anything short of this and flame away on these turds.

You are being wildly optimistic. And I'm prepared to be banned this fall when the team is garbage despite trading for Watson.

    • He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.
    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
