Trade Down for Ridder?

What would be the mood if we traded down into late teens/early 20s, added a 2nd and 3rd, and took Ridder? 

I've convinced myself I can live with this idea over taking Willis/Pickett at 6.

I think it‘s a possibility, although I question the wisdom of trading down and risking losing him if you truly believe a QB can be a franchise player. And if you don’t, then you have no business drafting him in the first round anyways.

This is my ideal scenario. Ridder is more pro ready than Pickett IMO.

I don't want any part of Desmond Ridder anywhere in the 1st round. I think he's basically Kellen Mond 2.0. Mond went at the top of the 3rd. That feels about right for Mond IMO.

I believe there will be some teams out there that have Ridder higher on their boards than what most fans think.

Some team might get him at 25 and in reality, have him as QB2 on their board and be ecstatic about the pick.

yep, and I've seen a few anylyst who really like him.

Honestly this is an odd QB class, its truly going to be "beauty is in the eye of beholder."

I think there is going to be a huge variance among the QBs rankings on different teams' boards.

I could easy see Pickett, Willis, or even Howell going 1st.  People probably think I'm crazy saying Howell, but he was really highly thought of going into the season.  Teams don't get caught up in the moment as much as fans.  Teams probably already had a pretty high grade on him.  I think PFF has him as their top QB, prospect as well. 

Like you said it only takes one.

I guess my mindset is Willis and Pickett are just as much of a gamble than Ridder. So why not try to pickup extra draft assets and hedge some of your risk.

If we Draft Ridder it would be in the 2nd, which means we would have traded down in the 1st to get another piece.  Would not hate this.
