I wanted Willis

but after looking into him...  does he actaully have a QB brain?   missing 1st reads and stuff.  might not process the play in real time.

Compare to:

  • Joe Burrow: 34
  • Tom Brady: 33
  • Kirk Cousins: 33
  • Russell Wilson: 28
  • Dak Prescott: 25
  • Ben Roethlisberger: 25
  • Patrick Mahomes: 24
  • Peyton Manning: 28
  • Brett Favre: 22

Scouts have been literally gushing over how smart dude is put some respect on his name.

Mahomes and Geno Smith had the same wonderlic score. It's honestly meaningless.

Just because something hasn't been done doesn't mean it can't. Before cam most of the league didn't really care for a dual threat qb. Afterwards it basically became the norm. If 90% of the league have pocket qbs of course it is going to be rarer for running qbs to win Super Bowls.

Also each individual is different. I haven't heard one person say Willis isn't accurate. Where as they killed cam about it.

That's true, but you still can't ignore trends. Mobile QB's that can avoid the pass rush win titles. Roger Staubach, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Big Ben , Steve Young, Russell Wilson are what I classify as mobile QBs. All of these guys had wheels, but ultimately they beat you from the pocket with big time throws in big time games.

Running QB's don't, or at least so far, win  championships. They put up highlight reel runs and are fun to watch. But, they tend to end their careers without a SB ring.  Their careers tend to end a bit prematurely as well due to the hits they absorb.  I'd take a statue in the pocket that can read and pick a part a defense behind a good O-line over a running QB any day of the week.

QBs better than Lamar in no particular order

Brady

Wilson

Rodgers

Stafford

Allen

Mahomes

Watson

So he's somewhere around 8 to 10th .

I only consider Brady Rodgers Mahomes elite.

Then great

Then very good. He's in the very good category.

    • You're dreaming if you think that's all it would cost to move up from the 51st pick to the 1st round. It would take at least a first next year
