Ummm no one is said that. Stay on topic. Lamar isn’t healthy. He is a running qb and like allll of them, he won’t win a super bowl.

In 49 starts he's 37-12 with 84 passing TDs and 31 INT.

In four seasons he's been to two pro bowls, been MVP and First team all Pro.

Objectively speaking he's been successful.

Where would you place cam. Because most people would say then and now he couldn't pass.

Said it elsewhere, and have said many times, Newton is a Brett Favre level passer. John Elway compares too.

All three guys had general vicinity accuracy and some level of inconsistency. You could see them throw a pass that looked laser accurate on one play, then throw one that would miss the broad side of a barn the next. Whether or not they won games depended on which type of pass they threw more.

I've sometimes referred to them as OMG / WTF passers because some passes made you say OMG and others made you say WTF 😆

And yes, you can win with guys like that if you build around them properly. All three made Super Bowls and two of them won championships (Elway won two).

Some of y'all are getting all excited about drafting Armanti Edwards 2.0 in the top of the first round.

They're both black can run with the ball and went to a small school so obviously he's Armanti Edwards 2.0 🙄

Ok this I agree 100% on. I just think a qbs success and winning a championship isn't 100% on them as many people think. People like to say newton not winning a super bowl is because he wasn't good enough as a passer when other factors like Byron bell and the other horrible tackle came into play.

Winning a championship is a team effort. Not having elite wrs who can help a qb matters. Having a cmc like back matters. Having say von miller on the other side matters. Elite shut down CBS. Its not all on the qb to win a game.

These pro days do nothing for me, I think a waste honestly. You see what they do on film when they have to throw with someone coming at them and covering guy their throwing to.

That isn't how scouting works. You look at film of Willis vs say macaroon state.. that doesn't tell you as much as him throwing to nfl caliber players and seeing him vs = competition. Can he make all the throws? Because on tape his offense was a 1 read and go. Can he do and process more if asked? That's what these are for.

Doubt we'd drop back all the way to 20

We could get this year's first, second, and 2023's first (probably a top 10-12 pick).

That could be interesting if we have to draft a QB in 2023 (we'd have 2 draft picks).

    • Say you don't understand PFF without saying you don't understand PFF... Every week seems like some of the same people are complaining about something they clearly don't understand.  I'm not saying they are the end all resource out there but once you understand their methodology you can start to appreciate some of their work. For example, their grading system isn't a high school grading system, try to look at some of it in relative terms.  Rico had an 82 rushing grade, that's pretty good.  I would be curious to know how that compares to every other running back this past weekend. Also, I think he had a few penalties, which if I'm not mistaken are graded pretty harshly.
    • Can we go back to square one for a minute and remember what we paid for this guy and how he was sold?  He was like, the anti excuse. Makes everybody better, Did we get that?  I think the answer is still coming but so far you might can say that for a game or two.  Cam had issues with personnel every season almost. Horrible OL, but he had receivers. Decent to good OL no receivers. Etc. Bryce needs to stand up, or keep standing up, however you want to put it. It is big boy time in year 3. He doesn’t have to make the playoffs but there is a standard. We’ll see what happens.  But the excuses are just fuging tired.  ps, I mean let’s not crown him when he has franchise record production in two wins,.. let’s see when they stop that, how he does then.
    • Where do you draw line top3 or top 5 money then? I wish he goes for a "hometown" deal and doesn't try and reset market but it's going to be tough to argue not paying him BIG MONEY if he continues do be a stabilizing force on the left side of line. DM got some tough decisions to make at the OT position coming up.
