Panthers owner David Tepper buys John Fox’s Quail Hollow mansion for $5.35 million

That isn't his primary residence.  That basically his apartment for when he shows up in Charlotte.   He just bought a 70 million dollar home in FL.

My personal pipe dream is that the NFL forces Stephen Ross to sell the Dolphins and Tepper decides he'd rather own them than the Panthers.

There was a rumor that one of the Walton family heirs might be interested in buying the Broncos. Maybe he could take the Panthers from Tepper instead. Don't remember the exact amount, but his reported net worth made Tepper look like a small business owner.

(I can dream) 😕

Tepper is going to turn the entire state of SC against the Panthers by the time the season starts.

Smart business move.

Tepper probably realized he can just have training camp in Charlotte and that all the SC stuff was pointless fluff that wouldn't impact his bottom line.  Jerry wanted to be in SC.  Tepper probably realizes it isn't needed.  He can just burn Wofford and then RH and it not actually impact him.

So it's an 800M project, Rock Hill bids 250M to have it in Rock Hill becuase they really want it there, they make a deal with the team, they renege, and somehow Tepper is the scummy person here

Two sides to the story right now and we don't have the truth.

RH claims Tepper's plans have impacted the ability to secure the bonds.  And he refuses to talk to them.   If true, that wouldn't just be RH being a bad actor.

Truth normally in the middle.

SC residents, you voted these idiots in

can we please strip the name ‘Carolina’ Panthers and just call them North Carolina Panthers

lol, yeah, because North Carolina politicians are much better bunch?

NC will have their moment on the dance floor with Tepper in due time.

No but at least NC will value what the franchise brings to the region and honor  whatever is agreed upon

RH politicians will put all the blame on Tepper and get re-elected.

They will certainly know what’s at stake if they don’t.

Its times like these that I wish Darrin Gantt was able to really speak his mind.

RH missed a deadline to issue bonds, the deadline was extended, they missed that too.  They were talking that whole time.    Then they pointed fingers at Tepper.

The real sad part, there were a lot of communities around Charlotte who would love to have this project and wouldn't keep dicking the Panthers around, default on their obligations, blame everyone but themselves, and then complain that Tepper won't keep talking with them when all they want to talk about is how they aren't going to meet their obligations...and "hey you're a billionaire could you cover it?"

Its a dick move.

Tepper should have chosen a different community.  Its clear whatever RH is offering at this point, it will be hard to trust them.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
