Unfortunately, Matt Rhule is playing for his job, and doesn’t care about next year. So, any chance of bettering our draft for next year, probably won’t happen.

Hate the fact that Rhule is playing for his job this season and they have to sacrifice a better play in the draft for his security. Besides having the team by the balls with his contract, he has them by the short hairs in the draft

I'm beginning to think his job is not in any danger this season. His seat is a bit warm inside the building but not to the level the fans think or want.

The Aints can package the picks they received from Eagles as an offer to a team to trade up. I just hope we don't bite that hook and get reeled in. The Panthers seem to jump at times to get a chance to get more picks.

I think the best spot to be is in the mid teens down.  The Saints are sitting pretty right now. They would only need to move up a few spots to around say 18 or 19 to get a qb or a decent LT. They wouldn't have to move up to the top 5 unless they just really wanted one if those guys

that's my evaluation, I will promise you that NFL teams feel differently than me

Yeah, we all have our evaluations. Me too. I think there will definitely be a player worth drafting at 6. Pickett (I know, not a popular choice but that's my evaluation), Cross is worth it imo. He's my preferred LT wherever he's drafted. I think he's the most ready to come in and start immediately. He'll need time to develop into a great LT as all LTs do but he's ready. Same for Pickett. He's the most ready to come in early and take over for Darnold this season and I think he will be good at it to.

The Saints are foolish to give up 2 firsts for a QB that will not beat out Dalton and Crablegs--a #3.  However, the Saints aggression could mean that the Panthers get offers-even if (for example) Willis goes at #5.  If they do not want Pickett, they could gamble and trade with a team like the Seahawks and move back, still possibly landing Pickett and undoubtedly landing Corral if they like him instead.

So it depends on who they like and how many they like.

Good logical thinking.

None of the QB's in this draft class are worth the #6 overall pick. Let the Saints trade up and waste their draft capital. They are great at doing that.

If the Panthers didn't think Mac Jones or Justin Fields were worth the #8 overall pick last year, and they think any of the QB's in the 2022 draft class are worth the #6 overall pick, everyone needs to be fired.

Your point is taken howeverThey had Sam Darnold, who was going to be the savior

now you could say that they felt darnold was better so they made the move before the draft and the rest is history

I would like a LT as well but the fact remains Darnold is not the answer

the fact also remains that darnold has never played a full season and yet again, they just have PJ as backup.  That is not tenable.  It wasn't  tenable last year and less so this year

Before opening day, they need a NFL backup and a potential starter not named Darnold

if they don’t answer those needs then consider the possibility that they are letting the season go as it does and Rhule is history

my hope is they manage to move down two spots, get that LT and get a qb in the second

people who spend money on this franchise need hope  there is zero tight now and as long as Darnold is under center, that won’t change
