If mayfield wasnt such a nut, i could maybe warm to the idea, but you cant have your QB be the biggest diva on the team. Guy causes division and strife. If we sign him, itll likely crash and burn so we'll have a new head coach the following year, so............sign me up!

Good O-Line With Mayfield and McCafferey along with our Defense and Horn? Dude this team will be explosive. I don't get all the hate for Mayfield. We are a play-off ready team with Mayfield next year and the games will be actually watchable without Darnold starting.

I like your style. I don’t get all the hate for Baker. He would immediately be the 3rd best QB we’ve ever had, with potential to be much better than that. He had a lot of success until last year. And he had a serious injury. With our revamped line, a healthy CMC and our WRs we could put up serious numbers on offense. Some people around here are never happy no matter what happens. They just hate Rhule and that makes them hate everything. We could trade for Mahomes and some people would bitch about the draft picks we gave up.

I was just thinking the same damned thing

not only do the Panthers take Jets’ scraps, now they consider Browns’ scraps

…and oh yeah, a qb that the 49ers gave up, what three #1s to move up and take to get rid of him

I’m, just, I don’t know

i’ve got nothin

We're constantly in last call mode. We refuse to strike out, but we'll pickup a hefty bar tab to bring home a wildebeest.

Baker for next year’s 4th and they eat most of his salary. We can send them Robbie’s whiney ass too or trade him away for a pick and sign Jarvis Landry. Draft a LT at 6 and we should look much better on offense.

If they took Darnold and Robby I'd be willing to send them next year's 3rd.

    • I can't tell you what other's expect from him before they will start believing in him. I think for some, they will never be able to overcome his size. I think that is the fundemental problem for them which means they will never be happy with him behind center. For others, it seems he will have to be in the top 10% in pretty much every catagory and do that all seaon for them to start believing in him. Not everyone of course. There are people on this board that, while have doubts, can still acknowledge his good plays and are willing to give him another season. Those folks I would assume just want consistency - and wins. I could be off on all the above but that's kind of how I see it. And while you didn't ask, I will say I'm glad they picked up his 5th year option. He earned it. I do not think he should be signed to a long term contract yet. I do think he will develope in a franchise QB and will get the Panthers back into the playoffs and win them but I know I could be wrong. Next year will be the big test. If the offense continues to improve and they get back to the playoffs because of the offense, it will be time to sign him long term. If it's a repeat of this year, then it's time to look elsewhere for a QB. Like I said though, I believe he can be the guy so would be surprised if he doesn't make it.
    • Well since I am so biased, why don’t you tell us what he has to do to earn the trust of everyone that doubts him? If you say he has already done it, we really will never agree.
    • Also, do you think it a bit odd that the media has ignored it? Maybe they haven’t. But I am not aware of it being written or talked about.
