Albert Breer: Baker Mayfield would be redundant to Sam Darnold and the Browns are pushing more for a trade than the Panthers are

What's the end goal with getting Baker or Jimmy G? They are not going to get us where we ultimately want to go, and he would keep us out of contention for Stroud/Young. At least with Darnold you are more likely to tank (and you could argue he has more upside than Baker/Jimmy - even though we are very likely beyond repair).

Baker has also had like 4 different OC's. Do we just ignore that? That can hinder a QB in a heartbeat.

On a team with 5 pro-bowlers including Nick Chubb and 2, that is TWO, OL.  Not to mention Odell Beckham until mid November.  What the Browns finally figured out was that it wasn't the OC's, it was Baker.

Baker   >   Sam

Sounds like the Adam Gase thing with Darnold. Everyone else was to blame. Not the right fit not the right coach not the right surroundings. I can't believe some of you guys don't see the same story unfolding.

Sam sucks.  We need to move on.

That said, Sam didn't have 2 probowl offensive linemen, probowl RB Nick Chubb and Odell Beckham with the jets or us.

Two totally different situations.

Baker may be better than Sam, but not by much.  They are the same tier QB.  Baker is just the whiny bitch version of Sam.

Can't disagree with any of this. But the biggest question for Baker isn't how much better he is than Darnold. It's the matter of is he a bad teammate and a bad leader of men. So far we have our answer and that means we should not give up anything of value for him.

It's been stable for the past two seasons under Stefanski and Alex Van Pelt, yet Mayfield still went off the rails.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
