No one except you has sympathy for a billionaire. He’s at the center of it and is losing the battle of public opinion. The dude is a prick who could write his own check to build the facility, he just doesn’t want to. He’d rather take some money off the taxpayers and then walk away to gain leverage when it doesn’t work out the way he planned. I don’t give two shits about the “details.” The fact that it didn’t work out and has ended in a PR disaster that tepper is at the center of does no surprise me in any way. People with normal size egos don’t solve their problems this way. Billionaire narcissistic assholes do.

Seems misunderstand everything 🤦‍♂️

Unfortunately there are many more like him across social media. Some folks make it their mission to shield these billionaires from criticism. There is even a meme for it because of all the Elon Musk fanboys.

Soros should be taken to the woodshed.

Ditto Zuckerberg and a whole bunch of others...

...but billionaire flogging isn't the one-size fits all exercise so many simpletons insist it is 🤦‍♂️.

How do you feel about Robert F. Smith?

I don't have sympathy for Dave Tepper, but I do think its ludicrous to blame him if the City agreed to something but wasn't able to follow thru. Of course, that is a big if, as I haven't been paying much attention to this saga.  Of course, if they did make an agreement and didn't follow thru, one could argue that they shouldn't have made the agreement in the first place, but that is on them, not Tepper.

https://www.fox46.com/news/u-s/rock-hill/documents-show-rock-hill-wanted-to-host-the-nfl-draft-more/

The Panthers and city leaders wanted to bring the NFL Draft to Rock Hill, and originally referred to the Panthers HQ as “Project Avalanche.”

The optimism was there, though, of what this project could do for Rock Hill and beyond. In August of 2020, Gettys (Rock Hill Mayor) congratulated a group on the work they put into the Panthers project, concluding the email with, “Appreciate each of you and hope our Council doesn’t screw it up when time.”

No wonder Tepper won’t fire Rhule, they are birds of a feather.

The sleaziness between the both of them is astounding and it’s clear that they are always looking for shortcuts instead of going about things the right way.

How is this a "shortcut" for Tepper?

Please elaborate...

You mean filing for bankruptcy to avoid taking the hit on a project that he half assed?

If he really cared about the Rock Hill project he’d have found a way to make it work with or without the city.

And before some jack wagon fires back that he shouldn’t have to finance the project by himself…

1) He bought the team, so in fact any and all upgrades should fall on him and a plan should have been in place before he started digging random holes in the middle of South Carolina.

2) If Stan Kroenke can afford to privately finance SoFi (one of the most expensive NFL stadiums in history), then I’m sure the supposed “richest” owner in the NFL can afford to build his pleasure palace with his own money.

How so?

The project doesn’t seemed to have been thought out very well, if it was there would have been contingencies in place for completing it regardless of if Rock Hill backed out or not.

Tepper tried to make a deal with Rock Hill promising them jobs and exposure and all these things when in reality if he wanted his version of Jerry’s world he should have picked the location where he wanted it to be and finance it himself.
