Im fine rolling with Sam. Live or die with Darnold.

I actually have hope that he will have a decent season this year. Kid still young.

Could you imagine if he came out and put up a good season behind an actual OLine and took us to a winning record?

The Huddle wouldn't know how to handle it - they've been toxic about the guy from day 1.

Toxicity towards Sam since day 1 is deserved, especially so far in hindsight. Personally, I don't think Darnold is a good QB and the only way he can get us to a winning record, is with a roster that can baby him - a lot of handoffs to a healthy CMC and checkdowns. A control the game type of offense with a stout defense that rarely plays from behind. I don't think there are many teams, or many coaches, in the NFL that can provide an environment where Sam could "succeed".

So did Snow talk too?

Didn't say much besides Wilks wants to keep Chinn at Safety, and mentioning a bunch of LB's coming off the edge to replace Reddicks snaps. Which seems odd considering we were getting demolished in the run game last year playing lighter guys on the edges

"The way it is in the building right now, Sam is our starting quarterback"

That quote doesn't mean poo if the building changes when we get another QB be it a rookie or Baker.

Exactly he had to say that what else is he gonna say! IMO i really believe there gonna trade down from 6 because i can't see Fitty sitting around with no day 2 picks and draft a QB this year in the first round!

I would be the happiest drunk SOB in the joint.  I would dance my ass off if he miraculously took this team to the NFC championship game...

But then I woke up.

I hope that's a smokescreen.  If not, expect to get ran all over.

Yeah I know Luvu is pretty good in that role, but wasn't expecting Luvu/Shaq/and Chinn to be his answer to losing a guy that basically played DE in a 4 man front. No problem with those guys blitzing with more traditional DE's on the line, or just go 3/4 if you want to send guys that light constantly

I honestly hadn't heard of half the guys he mentioned that we signed.  I'm getting old.

I get what he's saying and if it works they may just might make it work.  They have edge rushers, they just haven't gotten much playing time for one reason or another.  Depth is an issue as he repeatedly said. So have I by the way. The war of attrition is a big factor in success.

That's revisionist history.  Sure some people have hated the trade since day 1.  But, plenty of people around here were overly optimistic about him last Summer.  Things didn't get fully "toxic" until he started stinking it up bad.

Yeah he also mentioned Cory Littleton, another LB. I'm hoping YGM actually gets some snaps because he has the size we need to seal the edge in the run game. We've been developing bad habits not playing our draft picks enough in favor of journeymen FA's.

    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
    • It is due diligence at that point. Irresponsible not to take him.  Crossing my fingers on this one, he has everything you look for except experience.
