Our third is likely to be a top 5-10 in the 2023 draft. Why trade that? Why? For Corral? Is he better than Howell? Is he better than Strong? Is he better enough to be a starting QB in the NFL? If the answer to a single one of those questions is no, then it is a dumb trade.

Just fuging wait or trade a goddamn 4th for another 4th. Don't let go of 1st-3rd round draft picks. That is the meat of the draft.

You seem wound up.

That doesn’t really make any sense. If anyone knew the answer to any of your questions they’d be the highest paid GM in NFL history. Also we won’t be picking top 10 next year

Matt Rhule doesn’t look happy.  Maybe he is just tired but there does seem to be something.  Also, he said all the best QBs in the NFL are old.  Over the age of 35.  That it’s an older players position WTF?

Rodgers and Brady were among the best before 35.  They just happen to still be playing lol.

It’s a future 3rd rounder for a young QB with potential. We come out if this draft addressing two of our biggest needs with really only our first and what might as well be a fifth round pick and all we did is lose next year’s 3rd over it. That’s minimal damage all things considered. At worse we have a backup with potential on a cheap 3rd round contract. At best we have our new QB. Very low risk high reward pick. Even if it’s a high 3rd next year, those picks are far from sure things. Who was ours last year? Marshall and BC? Marshall might have been a 2nd…

Rhule, attempting to set expectations that Corral is unlikely to unseat Darnold as the starter: "This is the only position in professional sports where the best players are over the age of 35"

He only mentions Rogers and Brady.

I'm not sure how old Stafford or Russ is, but he doesn't mention Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, Allen, Lamar, Kyler, Dak...

He should really not talk to media anymore, probably not players either

I dont understand this "Rhule develop the QB" notion. The QB coach and OC develop the quarterback. Thats what they get paid to do. Sean McDermott didnt develop Josh Allen, Ken Dorsey did. BB didnt develop Macjones/Jimmy G ... Mcdaniels did.

He was saying Rhule has full roster control and is on the hot seat. If fans start booing when Darnold starts struggling, Rhule may try to force Corral in the lineup too early. McAdoo even said it’s ultimately up to Rhule when asked if Sam was his starter.

Brady, Rodgers, Brees were all tops in the league in theirs 20s too.   Same for Wilson who isn’t over 35.  That’s was just a weird narrative that QBs somehow don’t get good until retirement age.

Also doesn’t mention Watson who they just tried to trade the farm for.

I don’t think Rhule wanted to draft a QB.

Just watched the edited game against Tennessee (the 30 rush game). It was not a great showing for him, but among some bad throws, a lot of drops from his receivers, and struggles against the blitz in the 2H, his tools and mentality are apparent. He’s not afraid of anybody on the field. He takes hit after hit in that game and does whatever he can to extend the play without taking sacks. And his release is as quick as advertised.

My goodness that Ole Miss offense is annoying to watch, but it’s probably not a bad idea for McAdoo to work some RPO into the offense on occasion as it will help Ickey ease into NFL pass pro, as well.

Highly recommend watching a non-highlight video of Corral without commentary to form your own opinion.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
