Because they see him as a nerdy dork IMHO. Just like with Clausen. Clausen sucked, yes, but if he were ... "cool", people would have given him a chance. Sam has no swag (which some fans here love more than the DAMN TEAM), so when he underperforms, his dorkiness gets to them. Jake was a fiesty gunslinger, Cam had the swag, some guys even gave PJ a break! So even when these guys played like crap, some people let it slide.

Aren’t you a Corral fan? Corral has that same “swag” that you hate. So, what’s really the reason you dislike Cam?

Also, Darnold has been given just as many chances as you claim Cam has. This is year 4, right? He’s been who he was going to be since USC.

Were dak or wilson more ready to play qb then Corral?

Personally, I think Dak was. Dak has said multiple times that the reason he had immediate success was because of the pro style offense that Mississippi State ran.

Wilson probably wasn’t ready but when you have an extra weapon in your arsenal (true dual threat QB) then it makes life easier.

Same reason he makes Malik… they either kicked his dog… or they listen to too much hippity hoppity music.

I don't know anything about Corral, so I don't dislike his personality ... yet. If he's some showboat punk, yeah it'll rub me the wrong way. Sorry, I like my QBs to be men. Same reason I like the old NBA. Men. Adults. Pros. I'm 46 if that helps you, lol. The only guy I've ever given a pass to is Smitty!

All you guys say ... but let's see what Cam can do behind a LINE. He's never had that! He's never had WRs! So yeah ... let's see what Sam can do. Like I said ... he gets 3 games in my book. If he's still trash, bench him then move on in the offseason.

Based on what I know about Corral, I look forward to seeing how you approach him for years to come.

From what my best friend back in MS, who attended Ole Miss and knows of him well, he’s as much confident and sure of himself as our past QB. We’ll see if you and others are consistent.

Also, PJ is nowhere near as brash and outward. You only dislike PJ because others like him. That’s sad, but that’s always been your MO. For some reason, you just want to be opposite of everyone; a contrarian

WHY?? Why should we waste any more of our time with the Sam experiment?

I hate to break it to you, but he is who he is and who he has been forever. He will never consistently be good.

That process you are talking about means we watch him for 6 more weeks do exactly what he did last year for us, the previous years at the Jets, and in college.

As a fan, I never want to see that guy in a panthers jersey ever again, under any circumstance.

You are just wrong.

But that's ok

It's just strange to be this triggered by athletes showing emotion. Maybe the NFL and NBA aren't for you if seeing that makes you miserable 🤷‍♂️

If I am not mistaken (and someone can clarify this) but I am pretty certain Nick Foles worked with Ben Macadoo in Jacksonville so there is some level of familiarity there.

Almost...

McAdoo didn't arrive in Jacksonville until 2020. Foles was with the Jaguars in 2019 but went to the Bears the following year.

There's a huge difference between showboating and showing emotion.

Jake showed tons of emotion.

There's also a time and a place.

Celebrating a first down or td while being blown out is stupid.

Celebrating a first down inside of 4 minutes down 5 points is a stupid waste of clock.

Lastly celebrations about you are different than celebrations about your team and teammates.

I'm all for dancing with your teammates if we are in the game and score.

Are you going to call his detractors racist?

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
