Sometimes it isn't always about the money. Some of these guys will take a little less to play on a winning team that has a shot at a ring. The Panthers best shot at a Super Bowl ring for the next few years is probably going to be getting a replica on eBay.

Yeah I guess you’re right, it just sucks seeing damn near everyone else improve and I have to force myself to get excited about guys like Xavier Woods or hope that Resigning Donte makes him take that next step. I feel like Reddick is going to be a huge loss and nothing was done to try to fill the hole. I have a slight hope that Luvu will get a couple more looks on important Blitz packages etc.

Well, this is basically something really shitty franchises have always had to deal with. Once you are dysfunctional and a losing team, you are largely relegated to trying to draft your way out of it. Quality free agents don't want to end up in the purgatory of a bad team.

Not a terrible thing necessarily but it means you need to be pretty damn good in the draft.

Hicks is a vet piece that’s elite against the run. If we’re sitting on 25 million, we should be open to spending to improve weaknesses. Like run defense.

We're not sitting on $25M, we're $30M in debt with next years cap. Need to put most of that money back into the rollover or else we're gonna extend Shaq/Robby/CMC into 2030. $30M in debt next year with Corral as the only QB on the roster

Baffles me how we’re in that situation..

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
