I am really not trying to be funny, but it appears like some of Scots titles are becoming a little Special Juan-esque (with the unnecessary mystery).

What about the thread title here is inaccurate or misleading?

It's pretty much exactly what happened.

Not in that sense, it's just that you could've been more specific by including the name of the, uh, "analyst", so we could decide if it's really worth clicking on.

I don't think Jones has the kind of name recognition that merits putting his name up. Hence "analyst".

If somebody like Rapoport or Breer has said it, that would have been different.

Perhaps. I would think that most NFL fans, especially anyone in their mid twenties would know James Jones. Certainly most Huddlers. The average NFL fan is younger than us for sure, but not that much younger.

Could we release Darnold and get Baker? Sure if the price is way cheap. Is it in our best interest of the future? Nope. Stay the course, let Corral beat Darnold or if he can’t we know 2023 first = QB.

This ^^^ is well reasoned and logical.

It is also why Tepper and Rhule, not known for being well reasoned or logical, are likely to choose another course of action.

Neither did Mayfield.

No, but to be fair, he's losing it to Deshaun Watson. Garoppolo is losing his to a guy who's reported to still be struggling even with a few years under his belt.

And while I'm not a Mayfield fan, objectively speaking he's got way more good film on record than Garoppolo.

    • Just an observation, this is a game and it's supposed to be fun. I can understand disagreeing with damn near everything we've done the past decade, but getting angry and having such vitriol towards something you have no control over is just not healthy. I've been there as a fan before, and once I realized that I hated what I was supposed to like and enjoy, it made me take a step back and reassess some stuff. Now when we suck I don't get super pissed or angry, I'm just disappointed and move on.   I'm still a huge fan of the team (obviously, I'm on this damn board daily), but I just don't want to spend the energy hating them. I'm not praising everything they do, but the neutral "We'll see" approach to what happens prevents the large negative reactions and lends yourself to be more pleasantly surprised than negatively disappointed. Just some food for thought. Dissenting opinions are fine, it's why we have the board at all, to discuss things, but the immediate negative reaction to any and everything that happens before anything shakes out makes it seem like you are choosing to be upset about the choices being made rather than just letting things flesh out.
    • I need XL to get on that Jimmy Clausen app where he gave Matt Rhule a pep talk....and have XL give me an "oh wee mayne" to use her for the next decade when appropriate.
