I hope everyone considers McAdoo a huge step up from Joe Brady.  I also like him as a counter to Rhule's decision making, although that didn't work w/ Mayfield apparently.  I would swap him for Rhule right now.  He didn't have the best situation in NY as Jerry Reese had really let the talent run down there.

i'm sure both Darnold and Mayfield knew about MacAdoo's comments. I'm just curious their thoughts on each other having to work together now. i mean he had a couple good things to talk about each of the two guys...but thought they were limited in what they would be able to do and he's not been wrong on them.

who knows....maybe he can coach them up. i'm just not all that optimistic about either one of them. i think MacAdoo would rather be focusing on Corral. I know I would.

I’d be real interested to see if Baker invites Darnold to the session he is hosting with our receivers and skill players

Sounds like he was spot on to me. Baker is a turnover machine because he is a short pocket passer with small hands and Sam can't pass worth a damn. Add to that nugget that now Sam has PTSD. Then think about the fact that Baker whiffed with a real life video game roster offense. Someone said McAdoo should leave the scouting to the scouts. McAdoo may have a very stupid haircut, but he wasn't too far off with his assessment.

I mean, is McAdoo a counter to Rhule's decision making?  McAdoo when he had to ability to really show what his decisions really were as HC.......showed to be a really bad decision maker.  From dealing with players to managing a football game.

That is a massive assumption. We have no actual idea how the hierarchy breaks down at the moment. It's possible Rhule didn't want Baker. It's possible McAdoo didn't want Baker.

We aren't gonna know that until people start snitching on that situation.

I would day given the general level of dysfunction that is reportedly rife in the organization, it's hard to assume much if anything.

that whole dynamic has to be jacked. everyone wants to be a leader. it's going to be interesting to see who shows up at all for it. i mean why would anyone show up just because baker invited them? it's not like baker is some legend stepping into a leadership role and everyone responds just because it's him.

guy has to earn that kind of respect.

And how much of an upgrade is McAdoo? We aren't gonna know that until the season is over. 

Lots of Brady apologists and hope after Rhule Year 1. It changed quickly.

Last year, we put Darnold--who struggled in NY behind a horrible OL---behind a horrible OL (30th in NFL pass pro).  The offseason, we added 3 starting caliber OL and BC should be ready to take the next step.  We can trash Darnold all we want--but he had a terrible OL, no real TE threat, WRs with the dropsies, an OC just out of high school---not exactly a recipe for success.  There are few QBs in the NFL who could have prospered here-if any.

Baker had a good OL in Cleveland last year, but he was playing injured for most of the season.  His stats were still better than Darnolds'.  In 2020, with a good OL, Baker was above average, winning a playoff game in Pittsburgh. 

My point?  Expectations are pretty low right now, but I think conditions have drastically improved for both QB prospects.  I feel the OL will be very good--when is the last time we could say that?  I think our WR corps will be better, expecting improvement from Marshall.  Play calling should be better, now that we fired Brady, all agreeing that the NFL is not the SEC, and you can't win by simply having better players.

And then there is Corral---a bit raw, but a very talented steal at the end of round 3.  He is the type of player that is succeeding in the NFL now, and he has promise.

Personally, I think we could have a really good QB room if all works out.  While it is not Cam Newton/Derek Anderson, it potentially could be much better than in 2021.  The key will be to see how the Panthers develop talent, control the locker room, and make wise decisions moving forward.

He went 11-5 with a team that caused Coughlin to get fired. Again, that team's talent had run its course w/ sorry jerry reese and ended up stinking the next year.   I don't see his time in NY as that negative.

Hosting these sessions are the first step to earning respect. He is finding ways to spend time with the offense to establish chemistry and get to know the players. This is the typical first step for any new qb to any team.

I mean, seperate OC from HC.  His reviews as a HC were absolutely brutal and he got a quick exit.  And basically was outcasted from the league because it went so bad. 

We were just talking decision making.  Best way to view decision making of McAdoo is when he was the boss/HC.  McAdoo IMO was clearly viewed as a poor one.  From how he dealt w/ people to managing a game.    His HC time is the best indicator of his actual decisions making.... so I just don't buy him being some great positive there to balance out Rhule. 

Can McAdoo run a normal NFL practice and prep? Which we haven't had under Rhule? Yes.  If Rhule lets him.  That would be the positive of McAdoo.

      Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.

      I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
