I think it was you that got me on his bandwagon and hoping we would draft him. I was disappointed we didn't and then put my support behind Corral. I still have a feeling Sam Howell will make a good pro and still wish we had grabbed him up but I certainly don't trust Rhule to have been able to develop him or Corral unfortunately.

Rhule doesn't know anything about the actual mechanics of football, he just shuffles guys in and out hoping someone plays well. Convincing college kids to focus instead of playing video games is a lot different than molding professionals into successful situations

I can’t wait to find out what the donkey brained reasoning was that made Howell slip in the draft

Yeah I don't get it. Just before the college season, teams were supposed to "tank" for Howell. Hell, even some on this board didn't think we'd have a shot at Howell because we'd win too many games. And then one year later he slips to the 5th? Something ain't adding up.

I said before the draft that the Panthers fan in me wants us to draft him but the Sam Howell fan in me wants him to go pretty much anywhere else. 😂

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
