Looks like a rough go of it for the QB’s… Baker struggling and Darnold only hitting check downs. Darnold is trying to win the competition by not making mistakes but also not making any legit plays.

Touchdown plays aren't legit plays? STFU

You can’t dink and dunk all the way down the field, if you could then Darnold and Bridgewater would both be top 10 QB’s.

99% of the leagues QB’s can check down to a RB for a TD. It takes a good QB to start a drive at their own 20 and lead their team to a TD.

I’m glad a Darnold hitting Hubbard in 7 v 7 redzone drill where the backs will always be uncovered has got you hard, go clean yourself up with a towel and let the rest of us talk about football.

Bad placement for sure but I think the clip really highlights Chinn’s speed. If you watch frame by frame, Chinn’s not even in the frame when the video starts.

Agree with all.

But... Moore has to work back to the ball. You should never be waiting on the ball with a timing route like that. If you have to slow down, then start working back to the ball.

That whole play was a bit off with the flag being thrown right away. Definitely something the offense needs to work on more to play through distraction.

Zarzour said that he believes the current Panthers OL depth chart is…

Ekwonu - Bozeman - Elflein - Corbett - Moton

Smitty stated that before it’s all said and done it will be Ekwonu - Christensen- Bozeman - Corbett - Moton. Smitty also really likes Cade Mays.

Assuming the Panthers keep 10 OL, Elflein, Tecklenburg, Brown, Daley, Jordan, Horton, Pleasants, Erving, and Miller are battling for the final four spots.

What is Rhule's creepy fetish with Eflein? Not only is he the worst Lineman in the league.... He was cut by the old Jets and Bengals line and literally would not be in the league if it was for us. Him and Rhule seriously have to have something up. Gave the bum a 3 year deal and re-structered him

Pretty sure it's the oline coach and OC.

Don't let that stop ya though.

Matt Rhule is the HC.  Pretty sure Matt Rhule sets the tone for how things are going to be.   And if there will be a QB competition and what that looks like.  It’s not the QB coach demanding Baker/Sam have a “competition”.   He doesn’t have the power.    That’s Rhule.   The dude in charge of the whole operation.

and our new center who clearly is better and was brought in to be our C apparently has to “earn” the right….despite being a vet.  And despite being clearly better.  That’s again falls on Rhule.  The HC.  He is the dude in charge.

new guys have a lot to work on.  Silly to not let the guys who clearly should be starters and brought in to be such not get the work they need.  Especially when so much if it is chemistry and working beside guys (both at QB and OL).

    • I think it's short sighted to judge a QB or HC in a vacuum. They both need good players to be successful. That's the GM's role. And he's young in his role too. His general experience in the league gives him a bit of an advantage/perspective that everyone doesn't have. But he still has to perfect his role as a GM.  But whether they're good or not, they are young in their roles. That is the point I was making. Could they be better at what they do? Of course. But it's hard to have early success when you have so many major areas still figuring out how to do their jobs at the same time. Asking a QB to pass for 4000 yards when neither of his 2 best WRs have played a full season is a tall task. Asking a HC to be an effective HC while he's calling plays when he's only done it for 3 years, and he has a young roster is a tall ask. Especially with a roster with so many holes and lack of talent. But that young label is definitely coming to its end. It's about time to start showing major improvements on offense, defense and coaching. Dan has had 3 drafts/offseasons to improve the roster. Dave has had 2 training camps. Bryce has had 3 seasons, though that first season was a pretty tough situation for anyone to learn, let alone have success. The QB is on the hotseat. Mostly because it's pay up or shut up time. He's ran out of time. Doesn't matter if he has reasons or not.  Not getting into the other stuff. Too many layers to pull back.
