The Carolina Panthers coaching staff as it currently stands...

Head Coach: Matt Rhule

Offensive Coordinator: Ben McAdoo
Quarterbacks Coach: Sean Ryan
Pass Game Specialist: Matt Lombardi
Assistant Head Coach, Offense / Runningbacks Coach: Jeff Nixon
Wide Receivers Coach: Joe Dailey
Tight Ends Coach: Kevin M Gilbride
Offensive Line Coach: James Campen
Assistant Offensive Line Coach: Robert Kugler

Defensive Coordinator: Phil Snow
Defensive Line Coach: Paul Pasqualoni
Assistant Defensive Line Coach: Terrance Knighton
Pass Rush Specialist: Don Johnson
Assistant Head Coach, Defense: Al Holcomb
Defensive Run Game Coordinator / Linebackers Coach: Mike Siravo
Defensive Pass Game Coordinator / Secondary Coach: Steve Wilks
Cornerbacks Coach: Evan Cooper

Special Teams Coordinator: Chris Tabor
Assistant Special Teams Coordinator: Ed Foley

Some of these coaches we know from their performance with last year's team. Others we know via resumé or reputation, but haven't yet seen perform with the current iteration of the Panthers.

My Question: Accepting that there's a lot we don't know, but based on what we do know at this point, what's your impression of some or all of the current assistants?

FYI: Looking for opinions on assistant coaches only. The head coach is already being talked about in plenty of other topics.

I think the head coach sucks.

That's what you wanted right? My take on the head coach?

Kidding aside, Kevin Gilbride was a head coach over 20 years ago and is now a tight ends coach. What does it say about a person that 20 years after being a HC, he's a position coach on a not highly regarded coaching staff?

Steve Wilks was a head coach back in 2019 and is now a position coach on a not-highly-regarded coaching staff, and I think most people hold him in high regard.

Wrong Gilbride. Kevin M is his son.

Original Kevin (i.e. the one who got socked by Buddy Ryan) is retired.

I like what I saw on Camp Confidential from Chris Tabor.  Dude has some juice, seems like he can really connect with the guys.  Results on the field (what little we've seen) also seem to reflect that he's making strides.  Oh, and shocker, NFL experience.

I like what I've seen so far from McAdoo.  He's got a lot of character in interviews.  Taking this offense to a top 10 offense would be a massive accomplishment for him.  I think we have the players at the skill positions, and while not perfect, our line seems a lot better.  Our QB can't help but be better.  Cautiously optimistic with him.

Campen . . . I like his resume.  I want to see them settle on some starters to get the chemistry going.  I am troubled by some of the interior OLine play from the WTF game.  On the flip side, the troubling play all came from the usual suspects.

Everyone else, I think still too early to tell.
