The problem is that your evaluation of individual moves, competitions, etc. essentially boils down to "Rhule sucks, therefore this decision probably sucks" rather than evaluating each individual move on its own merits.  You even said in another thread (and I'm paraphrasing) that if a different coach decided to have a training camp competition at LT between BC and Ekwonu, for example, that you wouldn't really have an issue with it.  But since it was Rhule who did it (who you don't trust), you have decided that it's a stupid move.  We can say that Rhule sucks while also analyzing whether something he did is rational and justified or not.  I think we can employ some more nuanced discussion than some elementary Decision Tree dialogue that goes "Does Rhule suck?" IF YES -> "Every decision he makes is wrong and stupid".  That's basically the state of the current discourse on the Huddle.

Yeah, thats a bit simplistic and elementary

so the answer to my question is "NO"

Thanks for the excuses though.  I love how you defend rhule

how about this, if we had traded for Watson would he be in a competition with darnold?

Come on man lol that's an odd comparison to draw between Mayfield, and the guy the very same Browns mortgaged their entire future to dump Mayfield for.

Yeah if I was hired by a company and did a terrible job and they let me stay for another year and make 18 million, I was be pretty chill also....

Not to mention the money he’s already made. He’ll make another 10-20 million in his career as a backup and might even trick a team into letting him start. No reason not to have a good attitude.

I wouldn't know how to direct a major motion picture, but that doesn't stop me from understanding that Tommy Wisesu is terrible at it.

Likewise, while I wouldn't be qualified to be an NFL head coach, that doesn't mean I can't recognize that Matt Rhule isn't either.

(frankly, I'm probably a lot better at judging bad football than I am bad movies)

Ask yourself this question: Why was Joe Brady fired? The answer of course is that he was neither qualified nor ready to take on the role of an NFL offensive coordinator. I look at the resumés of other, more successful OCs helps in understanding that.

In the same way, looking at Matt Rhule's career path helps shed light on his qualifications.

Combine that with a review of his results, especially if you've actually watched the games, and it's really not that hard a thing to figure out.

Alright dude..

Quick Summary: You don't like Rhule and you will question every move he makes.. Got it and understandable..

Even thoe you didn't questioned similar moves done by coaches "you liked" and trusted.. Again understandable...

Side note..

Ppl poo on Tommy Wiseu for "The Room" and how bad it is.. But I got to give credit for the guy still making money off the worst movie ever made... They actually have nights still in movie theaters where ppl travel and pay to watch it.. So while you "think" you know this person and that person isn't good at something.. The fact that they've done it and got paid for it gives them more credibility then you..

This is a fuging fire post.. And if ppl would say before evaluating a move.. "I hate Rhule and everything he does so this is way I feel this way".. Instead of trying to hide behind some facade of expertise and non facts to poo on a move.. I can take there opinion more seriously...

Pretty sure I've been critical of moves made by every coach the Panthers have had to this point, so not sure where you're getting your ideas there.

As far as the "side note", using that logic, Sam Darnold must be one hell of a great quarterback 😆

I'm not going to say that Rhule is incapable of making good decisions, but he has set a precedent of making some bad ones. If a dog bites me a few times, it doesn't me he'll bite me every time, but I sure as hell ain't going to trust him enough to try to pet him.

His career earnings are $49.4M, including 2022 since it's fully guaranteed. Even if he only cleared half after agents, taxes, etc., he can do whatever TF he wants for the rest of his life. Landing a backup gig (and I think he'd be a good one) is icing on the cake.

No his logic is Sam Darnold is a hellofa great quarterback compared to you.

Likewise Matt Rhule is a a hellofa great NFL coach compared to you.

Or, Marty Hurney sure is a hellfoa great GM compared to you.

Personally, I'm not sure how you got Sam Darnold must be a great quarterback with what he wrote. Did you not read it? Did you drop out after 3rd grade? I don't think what he wrote was hard to understand so I'm befuddled at your conclusion.

    • The hit piece was just a few months ago and a lot of points were valid lol.
    • No, sounds like he lost a lot of credibility writing a hit piece on Sean Mcdermott a couple years ago in this similar vein. Gotta try to get those subscribers up on his fuging substack lol. Also say your name when bashing someone publicly instead of hiding behind anonymity
