Does anyone else think we could win the South?

I hear you.  This is his year especially with a depleted oline.

I feel you.  Hope it's true.  He had years late in NE with trash too though.  Couldn't move.  He had no time.  And he still diced folks up w/ that short pass attack.

Tampa  has Tom trouble and has lost a few pieces, Atlanta is in full rebuild, New Orleans still has Jameis. (after also losing in the Watson sweepstakes.) I honestly believe this Panther team has enough pieces to win the division. I just hope the injury bug stays away.

It doesn't matter if Tampa has Tom trouble, that's media creating a rucus. They're still winning the division and have too much talent. Bowles would have to completely bury the team on purpose and it's not happening. We'd have to be lights out but even then Rhule is here. not happening.

Success will utlimately fall on:

1) Coaching Improvement

2) Defensive talent following through

3) OL, CMC, Baker & DJ staying healthy

If those three things coalesce, we've got a shot.

Who knows, I can see anything from 6-11 to 11-6.  Realistic ceiling being ~10 wins.  Just think we need someone to step up outside of CMC and Moore to keep this offense moving along.

I hope that CMC is not over used, he wants to be in on every play. I think Rhule has learned by now we need to develop options if McCaffrey gets injured again.

I honestly believe that was the reason the Panthers acquired Laviska Shenault. I may be wrong, but I would not be surprised if he was used in the backfield some.

    • Trevon Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown, Jaelen Phillips, Devin Lloyd, Nic Scourton Giving him 6 starters in 2 offseasons that cost boat loads of money or a 2nd round pick... Not exactly handing the man scraps. The point of the draft is to make the team better. You want to make this about Bryce. It isn't. It's about improving the team. And if anyone can look at our offense and go "we're good", they are lying to themselves. You give quarterbacks weapons. We SCREAMED for YEARS to give Cam some help. But now because we are trying to do it for Bryce, you all are saying we are coddling him because of his "deficiencies". It's a double-standard because you don't like the guy, clearly. But even if he does fail, guess what? The next guy has help too. Win-win.
    • we have 2 solid/above average (however you want to phrase that) wr's, which is more than half the league at least.  We dont need to be blowing more first round capital just to placate Bryce and his limitations.   We have one absolute stud (probably top 10 wr) in tmac and we have a high floor guy with insane potential if he can stay healthy.  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.  If you need to add some speed or whatever, sure draft in the mid rounds or wait until tc cuts.  Its monumentally stupid to spend 3 straight firsts on a wr if thats the route they go.  ITs just more and more excuses for Bryce, thats where we are at now.    "How can bryce succeed without a big possession type wr (drafts 2 for him), how is bryce supposed to exceed without a speed guy......."   Its fuging never ending.  Give EE some goddamn help on defense for once
    • Tight ends in the first round just have so much risk. Even guys that look like guarantees at the position, fail. OJ Howard is a big one that comes to mind (and I REALLY liked him and thought he was going to be a stud in the NFL). I know that every player/position can be a gamble, but when you look at Kyle Pitts (he's come a long way, but he has clearly underperformed), TJ Hockenson, Hayden Hurst, Noah Fant, Eric Ebron, etc., NONE of these guys changed the dynamic of their team for the better. Zero. In fact, most of them end up being traded before their rookie deal is up. This draft has some good tight ends. I wouldn't spend a 1st on one.
