The 2009 TRADING a 1st for LB EvBRown.....and 2010 had hardy and lafell.

Lafell was.....fine.

Hardy had one flash in the pan season, assaulted a woman and threw her on his gun bed, sat for a year, paid her off, went to dallas and did nothing, and now spends his time rabbit punching toe tags in mma matches

hardy is nothing to hang a hat on

For a 6th he is. Thought enough to tag his squirrel ass. The killer was he was placed on the "team too scared to punish" aka commisher list. I believe 1 or 2 games into the tag year......he sat with allll his guns and hogwarts stuff cashing million per game checks.

Of course Dallas signed him and hammer came down on his career.

That was Capers first draft after Polian moved on, right?

Don't know if it was his first, but it was definitely his last for the Panthers.

fwiw, the stretch from 1997 to 2000 was perhaps the worst stretch of drafts our history.

Minter and Rucker were decent to good, Hayes was decent for a year or two, no one else worth mentioning in that entire four-year stretch.  And of course, in 97 we drafted he whose name shall not be mentioned.

Best draft: First one that comes to mind is 2017. McCaffrey, Moton, Butker (oy), even Samuel and Armah had some value to them.

Worst? 2009 was just awful. 2010 wasn't much better, and of course everything after Newton in 2011 was almost useless.

2001 is the best hands down...

Morgan

Jenkins

Smith

If I could have the players from any single draft we've had...I'd go with 2011.

fair but it wasn't an impressive draft at all. despite the pre-draft nonsense, Cam was a no-brainer 1st overall pick and not screwing up a 1st overall pick with a generational QB there isn't impressive, it's just not royally fuging it up...

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
