I am not really concerned about left tackle play in that game.  A rookie going up against perhaps the best in the league was not going to work out well.  But they needed to give the rookie some help.  I guess they did eventually, but they waited to long.

The pressure up the middle though is more concerning imo.

The issue is that it's hard to help the guys in the middle. Elflein is just bad. Corbett appeared to be shaky, best. BC has obvious limitations in terms of power but I think he can still be effective.

If Bozeman isn't an upgrade over Elflein, that is really bad. I think Mays might even be an upgrade over Corbett but that won't happen until very late in the season with Rhule being the way he is.

This is a bad protection call. Most likely the line slid the wrong way. I'd like to think the blitz was disguised.

Actually, it wasnt disguised. Baker audbled CMC to go from his right side to his left to pickup the middle blitzer. I dont think T-Mo realized this. T-Mo should have shoved Clowney inside and then switched over to the blitzer.

Regardless, Baker should have saw this coming.

I despise Elf... but outside of his snap issues (which i think he should be benched for) he played pretty well yesterday. It was surprising.

Reminds me of Terron Armstead going up against Hardy his rookie year. Hardy made that dude look like a high schooler out there. Definitely need to give Icky time, Armstead was a top 5 LT in his 2nd year.

I agree, its just that we knew Icky vs Garret was problematic, and it took us a while to do anything about it.

Of course, all this is a moot point if the coach was a little more aggressive at the end.

His first read was to the left, his second read was getting sacked.

it was our second posession, I dont think the Browns knew our "game plan" yet.

They seemed to know enough.

No, it was on Baker. Someone posted it above and I noticed it as well. Baker moved CMC to the left of him. He didn’t pick up on the potential blitz from his right and CMC wasn’t there anymore. QB also had to read that guy. If heather extra guy comes like that you’re supposed to get it to the guy he just left open.

If he audibled, yeah I'd give ya that.

Ultimate result is poorly executed either way.
