But he didn’t get involved with the team decisions until Rhule got here. Even tepper isn’t the source of our losing. He is just the person who owns the losers.

Tepper said he was staying out of football operations as he focused on the business side of the house his first year. Going into the second year he talked a big game about how he was now going to be putting his stamp on the football side of the house. Well, his first year was our best (bad) year on the field under his ownership. Since he put his stamp on the football side of the house it has been shown that "stamp" is actually the mushroom stamp other teams have been slapping on our face on the field ever since.

Funny thing is that Tepper doesn't talk so much these days. He really wanted to strut around and try to be the face of this organization when he first took over. He pretty much just hides these days. It seems like he's embarrassed of what he's created and he damn well should be.

Wasn’t Kyle Allen our starting qb tepper’s first year of active ownership?

Wasn’t there a big thing where he was the one to make Rivera switch to a 3-4 D because that’s what Pittsburgh was running?

Not 'becoming', but 'are'.

It's a culture now. That's why you've got guys like RA saying that fans shouldn't be so negative. He's ok with it so we should be.

Nah, his underlying demeanor, including his outburst on the sidelines last season, belies the fact that he's not OK with it. He was very hopeful and optimistic that Mayfield would magically help to turn things around--including the culture, but we've sucked for the first couple of games and Robbie is frustrated like everyone else.

Yep. That’s why we drafted Burns. We were still running hybrid 3-4 prior to that year under Rivera. We just went into the draft with that mindset.

Rivera talked about running a 3-4 but I never saw any actual change in his defensive concepts. We just got lighter on the edges and essentially ran a 4-3 D with 3-4 personnel on the edges.

Honestly, I think people give too much blame/credit when it comes to owners. At the end of the day owners don’t possess this 6th sense and know exactly what potential new head coaches are going to be the next Vince Lombardi or the next.. well the next Rhule.

Its not an owner who builds a team, signs and picks Free Agents, drafts and scouts players, coaches players to be their best, manage and coach in game situations, call plays etc etc.

An owner is only as good as the GM/Scouts/Head Coaches/players/coaching staff etc.

Tepper hasn’t really done anything different than other owners have done, it just so happened the head coach he hired didn’t pan out, it happens, on to the next one. I just can’t pinpoint a “smoking gun” to point to and say Tepper has been a bad owner.
