Absolutely

There are zero QBs in this draft that are clearly head and shoulders above everyone else.

Clearly Apples and Oranges.

Clausen was drafted in the 2nd round.  Received 1st and 2nd string Reps in Preseason.  Started several games and clearly wasn't the Answer at QB.

Corral was drafted in the 3rd Round.  Received very little reps even with 3rd string lines in practice. (well documented 5 minutes or less at the end of practice) Had 2 preseason games with linemen who aren't even in the league anymore.

This is your typical Corral haters trying to justify drafting their favorite mancrush next year.  The good thing is Stroud and Young will not be there when our pick comes in so we'll either trade down and pick up picks or draft another position of need.

It is hard to gauge what Corral can become.  First of all, he played garbage minutes.  Secondly, Rhule's system has not been kind to QBs--I think he could be decent in a year or two, but I think we should look to grab a veteran if Levis does not slip to us in the draft.  It is my opinion that the offense could use a productive TE--but that does not necessarily mean first round.

You gotta act like Corral doesn't exist in terms of forming next year's roster. If he flourishes, awesome! Great unexpected bonus. If he keeps on sucking, oh well. We tried. But luckily we weren't relying on him for anything anyway so whatever. Keep it moving.

I agree here. All we know about Matt is he struggled in the pre-season and got hurt 2 games into it... You can't go all in on that hoping he ends up being great. Draft an Anthony Richardson type and if Matt some how shines, then you got a win win regardless.

Bingo. I'm not trying to throw Matt Corral out with the garbage but based on what I saw you're making a real long shot bet counting on him for anything.

If we draft a quarterback we obviously are going to keep Corral as well until his ceiling can be determined. It will be interesting to see who the “bridge” quarterback will be.

Some of the experts and our coaches had Corral ranked as the top qb prospect in the draft.  The new coach will either agree with that or he won't. I know whoever Tepper picks won't think Corral is the worst qb in last year's draft based on what little was learned about him with the Panthers. I know if Carolina continues to use draft capital to go after qb's they will continue to suck. We have more problems than qb.  And, Anthony Richardson is a big gamble that will take years to develop. He is more of a sit behind Aaron Rodgers a few years type. I'm pretty confident that Corral would beat him out in the short term.

We've also seen the guys who were selected along with him in the 3rd play this year and it's been UGLY.

Willis is set for success with the most consistent run game helping him out and good enough WRs.  He looks abysmal.  Started 3 full games and hasn't thrown for over 150 yards in any.  Floating around 50% completion.  He looks just downright bad, regardless of how much development he needs.  Ridder stuck in it and made some decent throws late last week but otherwise struggled mightily.

A 3rd rounder should not be relied on in the slightest. Bugs me people keep wanting to just test him out next year and skip this class.  It may be thinned out, but it's not impossible some of these guys turn into something.  Need to keep throwing darts.

My opinion always has been and always will be that if you don't have a definitive answer at QB on your roster and you think there's a potential franchise QB available, you should draft him. Period.

There is simply not. Hell, Young and Stroud have warts. The guys after them look like second round fliers.  Wilks has really kind of screwed us with a worst case scenario: Wilks winning gives us the 8th pick and him as hc and he keeps McAdoo and drafts Anthony Richardson at 8.

All of the best young QBs currently in the NFL had warts. Once in a decade prospects like Luck and Lawrence come around about once in a decade. You really wanna just sit on your hands and hope you luck into the #1 overall pick in one of those years? Because you're not gonna be able to trade for that pick.

    • Then Dan Morgan should be on the hot seat. Wasting a first and second rounder in a pivotal year is unforgivable.
    • They addressed D in free agency in a big way (Edge, ILB) and they signed a starting OT and a player they think could be a swing OT in reserve.  They have claimed to be adding "Weapons" to the offense.  I think that will be their focus.  I agree 100% that we need a T, but a reserve, developmental OT in a weak (at the top) draft does little to address that weakness in 2026.  If they are telling the truth, a reserve developmental OT is not a weapon.  The will draft a WR if that statement and their actions in free agency are accurate.  That does not mean we ignore OT--I just dont see where he takes a T if he is filling holes. As a coach, I am concerned about OT, but when I look at the roster, I see bigger immediate problems. S: We are OK if you want Scott for another season. Not ideal.  There is also talk of Smith-Wade being moved to S.  If so, we need a CBN. DT: Who took Robinson's job?  He played a lot.  All DTs (NT-DE) were average to below average, (except Derrick Brown) including 280 lb wharton.  We need a DT (my preference for the first pick, to be honest)  I am guessing a DT will be our third rounder? ILB:  Unless we want Wallace out there in coverage, we need a compliment to Lloyd.  I think Lloyd's starting mate is the second rounder. (speculating)  This pick is likely to occur in the second round because it is for a starting position. WR:  Some are fine with what we have.  sIn 2025, Coker had 3  TDs on 394 yards.  Legette had 3 TDs and 363 yards--and only 1 drop.  I love Coker, but neither should make us feel secure about WR with those numbers.  A lot depends on both stepping up in 2026, but Canales has been screaming weapons.  Could he mean Tight end?  That depends on how good they feel about Coker and XL. Center:  You can get a player ready to start relatively early in the middle rounds.  Very similar to the OT situation but I think C may be more of a priority right now than OT.   Tight End:  They seem to like Delp from Georgia who projects round 4. CB:  There was some talk of moving Smith-Wade to S (to learn for a season with Scott, maybe?) and that might require adding CB depth inside. Tackle?:  I agree that we need one, but this draft is simply not strong at the top at T.  The ONLY way to get a quality OT that is still developmental is to take one in round 1.  Canales has all but said we are not doing that.  But after the first 40 picks or so, they pretty much level out for a good while.  The fifth rounders and the third rounders are about the same.  For that Reason, I am guessing (It is all guesses) that they take someone like the OT from Boston College or Memphis.  Work with the OL coach (OT specialist) for a season.  I dunno
